Hello,

jira url -- http://114.143.230.228:8080

mapped to DNS name-- http://jira@xyz.com

In JIRA>> Admin>> General conf>> base url-- http://114.143.230.228:8080/

when i acces jira through DNS name (jira@xyz.com) it goes to dashboard page but in the browser ,it shows the IP addres & port no .

How to avoid this IP adress shown in browser? Can any anybody help me on this.

Also when i change the base url to jira@xyz.com & acess using DNS name ,i am not able to acess the dashboard etc.

I as there any thing to chnge under server.xml file.

You can only have one base url - you need to make sure that is set to the url you want your users to use (which seems to be jira@xyz.com to me).

If you can't access it using the DNS name, then you need to fix your DNS setup I'm afraid, because that's a core problem. Jira will happily respond to incoming requests, but it can't if the requests don't even reach it because your DNS isn't working.

What happens when you run nslookup jira@xyz.com on your machine? Is it hitting the right DNS servers, is it showing the right IP/Port? How are you doing port redirection etc etc etc - all networky questions you need to run through...
