  • For the direction you are taking, I believe you might be right. The good thing about this ecosystem is that there are many ways to do the same thing. You might have better luck trying to detail the goal or task you are trying to accomplish, then describing what you have done, and why it is insufficient for your needs. The…
  • I think you're on the path to a great solution! JSM would absolutely be able to accommodate your existing process, which is great, because minimizing change is a great way to improve adoption. You could start by taking your existing process, and having the emails route through JSM for intake, notifications, and approvals.…
  • For specific questions, I would recommend posting in the question format to get the widest possible answers for your request. JSM does include an asset tracking capability out of the box, as well as email support, so I think you're off to a great start!
  • For some reason I am not being given credit for the Kudos badge for making this introduction post. Is that something a Community Manager needs to do manually?
  • Long time no see man!
  • Howdy all! Happy to be here! * What type of team or company do you work for? - I lead the Build and Release organization for Cisco Appdynamics and Full Stack Observability. * What do you hope to get out of this group? To be challenged to continue to grow and share my learnings. * What do you hope to bring to this group? An…
  • If Atlassian is forcing customers into Data Center because they are not ready to host them in Cloud, but it also removing our ability to pay for Server until you are ready, then is Atlassian offering FedRAMP customers the Data Center product at Server pricing? We cannot absorb the cost difference, so our only solution…
  • I would recommend asking this question in the Confluence section, not the Jira section. I would also look at the "HOW TO" templates for knowledge bases, they are a great starting point and can be tweaked from there.
  • Field values can only be programmed into the field configuration in the custom field administration section. They cannot be dynamically pulled from tickets in another Jira project. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but if there is something I am missing, please clarify and I'll see if I can get you a better answer :)
  • The custom url field is for displaying URL's only. Additionally, the link you posted is to Sharepoint, which does not have native integration into the Atlassian suite, so it cannot authenticate to load the URL and determine the page title. There may be an add-on for this, however the behavior you are looking for can only…
  • Yes this is possible via scripting/behavior when using the Scriptrunner plugin. You will want to use "behaviors" for hiding the custom fields based on a regex value (you can base it on anything, but I am suggesting regex based on the info provided so far). For the validator, you can also do this as a scripted validator by…
  • Can you share more information on what issue you are facing? How are you attempting to do it? You should be able to have a post function on the create transition to copy over all the attachments at time of creation, and then set up a listener rule to trigger any time a new attachment is posted in your original project and…
  • Jira's prefix's are determined by the "Project Key". Each Jira project gets a "Long name" and a "Key". If you created a single project called "Service Management" with a "key" of "ITSM", then all of your tickets will be ITSM-XXXX. It sounds like you might be coming from the service now space, where everything is…
  • I have always been a fan of "Easy Agile Roadmaps" - https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1215695/easy-agile-roadmaps-for-jira?hosting=cloud&tab=overview They have a whole quite of apps that are lightweight and visually appealing, yet still connect back to Jira data.
  • We currently have 3 community leads on staff, and several Atlassian certified engineers as well! Would love to welcome another community member/lead to the team!
  • Thank you for the response Vinod! What would you consider to be your threshold for "when it is safe?"
  • I'm stuck on cloud learning 2. I've now clicked into every article and nothing triggered the 2 videos to be marked as watched.
  • This is much better news. The system admin one makes sense, and given all the negative feedback on the difficulty of Confluence, and the low pass-rates, this makes sense from a business standpoint. I do have to say though, considering the low pass-rates, general perceived difficulty of the exam, and the fact that it's…
  • New mission statement time: "Unlocking the potential of all teams....who can afford to pay" I'm totally with you @Kimberly Deal _Columbus ACE_ . Charlie Horse is sad too.
  • With DC being recurring revenue, but with lower cost of overhead than SaaS, I simply cannot fathom why this is not acceptable for Atlassian. I've shared this feedback with numerous teams across Atlassian, but it seems like all of the hours of recorded calls I've had with teams all over the company was all for show, as…
  • I'll throw in my name to led to the "terrible decision" camp. I have loads of interviews with various teams around Atlassian where I have given all of my reasons. Atlassian has clearly told me that I don't matter. The icing on the cake is that one of the big concerns I raised was the certified admin community who had built…
  • It's funny, when the first big push on cloud came, I cited the certifications as a major problems. Certs were for server only, and the holders of the certs were the most vocal word of mouth advertisers for Atlassian. I know my company's Atlassian spend has more than tripled thanks to the expand motion of having multiple…
  • I'm with you @Kiet Ngo , I'm going to have a hard time trusting Atlassian after this, and I'm already researching other career paths and platforms for my teams and orgs that I work with, including my non-profits. :( This is a sad day indeed.
  • Totally agree with the points on DC. Certifications are how candidates differentiate themselves, and by not allowing anyone to prove their skills in DC, we are effectively telling the world that DC is also not a priority and will be following in Servers footsteps as soon as server is officially dead.
  • These were the first and only certs I've ever earned. My wall is about to get extremely barren. I've built my career with Atlassian, and Cisco will not allow for cloud. I'll be searching for the next big thing to jump on. Atlassian was a lot of fun for a very long time. But it seems like they have taken the "Don't fsck the…
  • Thank you for inviting me to this chat, it was a ton of fun and seeing this come from it is super rewarding!
  • Great post! On my bookshelf I have the following standards which I share with others regularly: * Radical candor - Sets the foundation for how to communicate with your team to achieve the best results * The Phoenix Project - Compares IT work to a physical manufacturing plant so that you can get out of your own head and…
  • Any notifications sent prior to the reporter change would not be resent, so the "We got your request, and your ticket number is X" notification would never be received since that only goes out at creation. How are no-reply messages hitting Jira in the first place? These are usually the result of some unmonitored system…
  • Scrum is not to avoid strict rules and analytics, but rather shift to a different combination of trailing and leading indicators to base your decision on, along with a feedback loop from your customers. I'm saying ditch the effort of peer reviews, and use sprint commitments and velocity along with feature feedback to…
  • That makes total sense. It's akin to a "Blocked" status on a software project. If this should be rare, and only certain people should be able to do this (to avoid gaming), then I would certainly be in favor of adding the status and then possibly limiting the project roles that could execute transitions into or out of that…
