@fzumsteinnothing you need to do on your side -- looks like 'diff-tree' doesn't have the default diff settings of '--ext-diff' like 'log' and 'diff' does for some reason. I'll add it to our backlog and hopefully it will be included in the next release.
-
Seems to work fine for me? Are you sure you have everything configured? Open the Process Log (Tools > Process Viewer...), click on the file to generate the diff, and then check the process output. It should look something like this: [1mdiff --xltrail a/Book1.xlsb b/Book1.xlsb [1m--- a/Book1.xlsb/VBA/Module/Module1 [1m+++…
-
Hello! Could you open Options > Git and report back with the detected versions of git? Thanks!
-
Hmmm... maybe I'm misunderstanding, but those settings values are correct? The config says "launch kdiff3" and kdiff3 is launched, right? What is the tool you're expecting to be launched?
-
Hello! This is a bug on our side, but has been fixed in our next release. You can manually fix the problem by editing the "sourcetreeconfig.json" file under the "Your Project/.git/" directory. Look for the "RemoteProjectLinks" section, and remove the trailing slash under "BaseUrl". Sorry about that!
-
Hello! Could you post a part of your ".git" config file for me? You can find it under "C:\Users\USERNAME_HERE\.git" Please post the part under "[difftool "sourcetree"]" Thanks!

Hello! Sourcetree is made by Atlassian, who is also the provider of Bitbucket (just like how Microsoft is the owner of GitHub). As Sourcetree is a free product, we require a one-time login with a Bitbucket account. After logging into Sourcetree you'll be able to add remote accounts for many different providers, which will…
-
Hello! So it looks like you had Tower installed in the past, and they decided to do something naughty and claim the "sourcetree://" URL protocol handler. You'll need to remove that handler and try the oauth login again. Instructions for how to remove it can be found here.
-
It just closes the dialog and terminates the process. I assume git then updates the index when your tool closes. You can see the same behavior Sourcetree does by doing the following via the terminal: * Have a conflicting file in your repo * Run:* git mergetool -y --tool=YOUR_MERGE_TOOL -- YOUR_FILE_NAME * Wait for the…
-
Hello! This is a result of the return code your merge-tool is returning back to Git. You can read more about this here
-
Hello! Could you make sure you're using a personal access token for your account? Your normal password will not work.
-
Hello! We're not aware of any issues with this, could you post a screenshot highlighting the issue? Is your online provider showing a different commit graph? If you run "git log --graph" does it look different than Sourcetree?
-
Hello! I'll need more info about the host you're trying to push your code to. But to answer your other question: you can add an account in 2 different ways: * Open a new tab, go to "Remote" and click "Add an account..." * From the toolbar, navigate to Tools > Options > Authentication > Click 'Add'
-
There's many reasons why you might be seeing this issue but just telling us "it's broken!" doesn't help us at all. Here's some possible reasons why it's not working: * You're running an older version of Git that uses a version of the Git-Credential-Manager that has a known bug * You're running an older version of…
-
FYI: This appears to be an issue in Mercurial itself as modifying the global .hgrc file to point the credential manager extension to a folder with an "ü" and running from command-line also causes it to fail.
-
Okay, here's a workaround that should work: * Create a folder that doesn't contain special characters and copy the contents of "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Atlassian\SourceTree\hg_extras" into that folder * Open the file "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Atlassian\SourceTree\hgrc_sourcetree"* Under the entry for…
-
To work around this for now: * Install git-for-windows * Go to Tools > Options > Git * Under "Git Version" click "System" @andersbrohallthe same fix should work for you, but replace "git" with "mercurial" and download it here
-
Hello! This is probably an unintended result of a security fix we previously shipped. Could you first see if the file it's referring to actually exists? C:\Users\Anders Brohäll\AppData\Local\Atlassian\SourceTree\hg_extras\mercurial_credential_manager.py If it does exist, then you can probably work-around this issue by just…
-
Hello! This should have been fixed recently, could you try again and let me know? Thanks!
-
Hello! We don't currently support this feature, but may support it in a future update. Sorry!
-
Got it. This is probably an issue with the git-credential-manager-for-windows. Please download the latest version of that (or download and install the newest version of git for windows and make sure you check the "install git-credential-manager" checkbox). Make sure you restart Sourcetree (and that no other git.exe…
-
Hello! I'd recommend not using a network drive with Sourcetree as other users have seen problems with it in the past. However, if you cannot see commits it's possible that you'll need to run "Fetch" to get the latest remote changes.
-
Hello! That (1) just means there's 1 file with changes in that repository.
-
You should be able to do this via the Terminal: git log origin/master..origin/develop --oneline Replace origin/master and origin/develop with your 2 branches.
-
Hello! I'll need more info about this. What do you mean by "login?". Could you upload a screenshot? If you haven't already, you might need to remove the git related credentials in the Windows Credential Manager.
-
Hello! 3.0.15 wasn't pulled back, the website is just slightly out of date. Thanks for letting us know!
-
Do you have git installed? If you open the command line and type: git clone https://donodyssey@bitbucket.org/donodyssey/donodyssey.git Does that work...?
-
Hello! This is a known bug. Check the pull-request URL and you'll probably see an extra '/' somewhere. Sorry about that!
-
Have you tried adding the account via OAuth? Add the account, but under "Authentication" use the drop-down to select "OAuth" and hit "Refresh OAuth Token".

Sourcetree is free -- we don't make any money off of it. It's not perfect and we're a very very small team. We try our best to handle the number of users we have. It's not easy. We don't intentionally make Sourcetree worse every version -- we (the developers) read every comment that's made on this forum and try our best to…
