Hello! Could you try the steps in this answer? Thanks!

Hello! We don't currently have context menu support in Sourcetree, but it's on our roadmap for a future release.

Hello! Please see this comment. It was caused by Github deprecating TLS 1.1 support, which means that all older versions of git (versions released before Jan of this year...) won't be able to connect using the Git Credential Manager for Windows. Github decided not to inform us, or otherwise email any developers about this…

Could you try installing Git for Windows, and then click the "Use System Git" button (restart Sourcetree after installing, and then click it)? Make sure the "Git LFS" checkbox is checked when it asks you to select components. After doing that, can you try again and see if it works?

Hello! * All "echos" will output in the output in Sourcetree. To ensure you even see that output, make sure "Tools > Options > General > Always display full console output" is checked. You should then see the output from the hook * That's a git-specific question, but if I had to guess it probably won't do anything if there…

Hello! To learn about how to use Sourcetree to create a new branch, please take a look at our how-to articles. We have an easy-to-use step-by-step illustrated guide that will walk you through making your first commit on Bitbucket, which you can find here 🙂. If you need additional help with this guide, please let me know.

Hello! To help, I'll need some more information: * Are you using embedded, or system git? (check Options > Git) * Which version of git and git-lfs does Sourcetree detect? You can check under "Git Version" under Options > Git * Have you tried switching to System Git (or Embedded Git if you're using System Git)?

Hello! Could you try enabling "Enable verbose console output" under Options > Git, and also enable "Always display full console output" under Options > General? After doing that, could you try pushing again and then provide the output? Thanks!

Hello! This issue is caused by Sourcetree's embedded Git client using git-credential-manager v1.12, which no longer works with Github since they disabled TLS 1.1 on their site (and didn't bother to tell anyone). Due to this, only the latest version of Git for Windows will work with Github. To use the latest version: *…

Okay, so now you'll want to make use you hit the "Use System Git" button, and then under "Network" enable TLS 1.1 and 1.2
-
Hello! Sorry for the misleading answers -- it turns out this is caused by a TLS change on Github's side so the Git Credential Manager no longer works with Github unless you're using the version released last month. To fix this: * Download the latest git for windows * Open Sourcetree > Options > Git > Use System Git
-
Okay, got it. To help fix this: * Download Git for Windows from the git-scm website * Install * Open Sourcetree, Tools > Options > Git, and click "use system git" * This will tell Sourcetree to use the version of git you just installed, and a newer GCM * Additionally, in Tools > Options > Network* Check the "Enable TLS…

If that doesn't work, try adding the GitHub account with OAuth: * Options > Accounts * Add a new account, but set "Authentication" to "OAuth" * Login, switch back to Sourcetree * Try pulling again
-
Hello! Could you try the following: * Remove the account via the options screen * Try pulling again * Insert your username + password If that doesn't work, try adding the GitHub account with OAuth: * Options > Accounts * Add a new account, but set "Authentication" to "OAuth" * Login, switch back to Sourcetree * Try pulling…
-
Hello! Try using the OAuth feature: * Just change the "Authentication" to "OAuth" and click "Refresh password" * Your browser should open and you can login/authorize * Switch back to Sourcetree and everything should be OK

Hello! Could you provide more details about where the error appears? If you're using an access token from GitHub, then you should be using that as a replacement for your password and won't need to add the remote account.
-
If the settings are correct (ST tries to automatically fill them out), then could you try again and see if it works?
-
Hello! Yes, it can (assuming you're using windows): * In the main toolbar, go to Tools > Options * Select the "Authentication" tab * Click "Add" * If you'd like to use OAuth, then just click "Refresh OAuth Token" and it will add the account * Repeat this again, but change "Authentication" to "Basic" and fill in your…

Hello! Here's how to set the extended integration settings: Once you hit "Edit" you'll see the options to set the Host Type and URL.

Hello! If the portable git download doesn't work, then you can just download the stand-alone version of Git for Windows here
-
Hello! Unfortunately, we don't support versions of Sourcetree that old. You can download the latest version here
-
Hello! You're seeing this error because "Aditya_local" is branched from "master" which is somehow different than the master that exists online in Bitbucket. I'm not sure how that happened -- what steps did you take to create your repository?
-
If you find yourself using the command frequently, you can also add a Custom Action to do this for you: * Open Tools > Options > Custom Actions * Add a new action* Menu caption: Assume Unchanged * Script to run: create a bat file with this as the content, and browse to that file:* git update-index --assume-unchanged %1 *…
-
Hello! You can do this by creating a local non-shared ignore file. This will ignore changes to that file, but only for your local machine. To do that: * Navigate to your root ".git" folder in the repository * Create a file called "exclude" (no extensions) under the path "YOURREPO/.git/info" * Open the file, and add the…

Hello! We don't support version 1.7 anymore, could you try using the latest version (2.4.8)? If the problem still persists, could you please link the Bugsplat issue submission id? Thanks!
-
Hello! Which OS and version of Sourcetree are you using? Thanks!
-
Hello! We're currently working on a release of Sourcetree that includes features like this for enterprise. It will be part of the 2.5 release which will be released to our beta testers soon. If you'd like to beta-test (or provide feature requests), then I'd recommend joining the beta forums.

Hello! I'd strongly recommended against cloning one repository for multiple users to use. Doing this will cause more problems in the future for yourself, and your users. Consider the following scenario: * User A creates a branch, and makes some changes * User A forgets to push those changes to the remote server * User A…

Hello! There's 2 reasons why this can happen: * It's taking a long time to refresh the status on the repository * It's a minor UI bug. Moving the repo up or down will fix it
