Hello! This sounds like a possible issue with an anti-virus or some other program that's preventing git from starting new processes. Do you have any applications that you can think of that would do that?
-
Hello! This is a known bug that we're going to be hotfixing very soon. You can get around this issue by making sure the setting "Refresh when application is not in focus" is checked in the settings dialog.
-
Hello! You should be able to go into the options, and edit the account there. If that doesn't work, then you might need to open the (if you're on Windows) the credential manager and remove all entries with "GitHub" under "Windows Credentials".
-
Hello! Merging a commit doesn't just merge that one commit -- it merges all changes on that branch to the branch you're merging into.
-
We've been able to narrow this issue down and have a fix coming soon. For now, just make sure the setting "Refresh when application is not in focus" is checked under "Options".
-
The dialog is coming from git itself -- it's trying to load remote repository details (Sourcetree attempts to refresh this every 10 mins which you can disable under Options) and is failing to do so which causes the prompt to appear. Not sure why it can't find your credentials and why your current one doesn't work. You'll…

Got it -- thanks. Okay, so in this case I'd recommend just removing all credentials related to Bitbucket from the Windows Credential Manager and then if prompted again enter your credentials and see if those get stored. Regarding the missing AskPass exe -- we'll be shipping an update for that sometime next week. It's…

Seems like the GCM is not set to the be the credential manager for git. Can you run the following command via the terminal and reply with the output: git config --global You should be looking for: credential.helper=manager After doing that, can you open the Windows Credential Manager (go to 'Windows Credentials') and look…

That askpass error is happening due to the git-credential-manager-for-windows not being triggered. Could you download the latest version of that and see if it fixes it? You can find it here: https://github.com/Microsoft/Git-Credential-Manager-for-Windows/releases
-
It should be. I can't reproduce this issue on my machine, could you give me more details? * OS version * Screen resolution and DPI of all displays * If you have any programs that manipulate your windows (apps that add tabs or fences or things like that) Thanks!
-
Hello! Could you check the version of the git-credential-manager and try downloading the latest version? Thanks!
-
This is probably an issue with your IE security settings, but because you're on server I'd suggest not changing those. If you try the 3.0 release you should be able to login via Bitbucket Cloud and won't see that error.
-
Hello! I assume you're using git flow? Could you post a screenshot better explaining what you're trying to do and the error you get? That will help us understand the problem better. Thanks!
-
Hello! This is probably an issue with the git-credential-manager-for-windows. I'd suggest downloading the latest version of git-for-windows, and making sure it installs the credential manager. Make sure Sourcetree is using 'System Git' (Options > Git). Then try logging in via one of those dialogs and it shouldn't prompt…
-
Hello! I suggest trying the new 3.0 release that allows you to login via Bitbucket via oauth in your browser. You can find the new version here
-
Hello! This is an expected behavior -- fetching remote changes is done in the background, and unless someone else is working on your branch it shouldn't actually impact anything. Additionally, fetching remote changes can be an expensive operation depending on your network speed and repository size (hence it being in the…
-
Hello! In 3.0 we recently added the ability to login with a Bitbucket Cloud account, which will bypass this. You can find the download here.
-
Hello! This issue was fixed in the 3.0 update. You can find it here. Release notes here
-
Hello! Thanks for finding this issue -- I'll create a ticket for it.
-
This is probably due to an issue with the git-credential-manager-for-windows. Please download and install the latest version here (and tell Sourcetree to use System Git), or download Sourcetree 3.0.
-
Just click the "Refresh personal access token" and you should be able to enter your username, and the token as the password.
-
Not sure if this is still an issue, but could you try this with the newly released 3.0 update? Thanks!
-
Hello! I assume you're on a preview version of Windows? If so, please take a look at this reply: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Sourcetree-questions/SourceTree-Start-Error-due-to-Net-Framework/qaq-p/808719#M24321 Thanks!

Hello! I suspect that this is an issue with the git-credential-manager-for-windows. Could you try the following: * Install the latest version of the GCM * Restart Sourcetree * Go to Options > Git > Select "System Git"* Make sure you've installed git-for-windows * Try and clone again
-
Hello! Do you get an error when attempting to clone? Is this repository hosted on Bitbucket?
-
Hello! This might be related to an issue with the git-credential-manager-for-windows. Could you try the following: * Install the latest version of the credential manager * Open Sourcetree, and go to "Options > Git" and make sure "System Git" is selected * Try pushing again
-
Hello! We don't 'officially' support App-V but using the enterprise installer might work better? You can find that here
-
Hello! It seems like Sourcetree is unable to open your browser to perform the Oauth login. Could you try just opening your default browser (keep it open) and then try again?
-
Hello! Your username looks like it might be wrong. Could you try switching "Authentication" from "Basic" to "Oauth"?
-
Hello! This might have something to do with the git-credential-manager. Please download the update here (https://github.com/Microsoft/Git-Credential-Manager-for-Windows/releases/tag/v1.17.1) and make sure you switch Git to use "System Git" under "Options > Git"
