Hi Kristin, You can develop custom templates and add them to JIRA via the email-template-id-mappings.xml if the system templates are not enough. This is a rather cumbersome way as you have to restart JIRA to add new templates. There are plugin alternatives that allow you to add templates via an embedded editor. I know two…

Nic's more precise answer on comments added from email is true, I just referred to the case when a new issues are created from email.

Hi John, 1) Is it possible to set the function to create a ticket from an email but only on a specific project or does it need to be enabled in JIRA for all projects? Sure. When you set up an mail handler in JIRA Administration / System / Incoming Mail, you must specify the project and issue type used to create new issues.…

Is the Reporter the person who assigns the issue? Because in this case, the reporter user's profile setting "My changes: do not notify me" may cause that emails are not sent. So if you test it yourself, please make sure you change your profile setting for the time of tests.

Hi Nathaniel, How do you assign a ticket? Do you use the Assigne operation or do you edit the issue and set the assignee? Or perhaps you use a workflow transition and set the assignee in the popup dialog? The way you assign an issue effects which event is fired. The Issue Assigned event is only fired if you assign using…

Thank you

Absolutely! I'm eager to see whether you find a solution for this. To my best knowledge, JIRA Core in Cloud does not support email customization of any kind. Regards, Tibor

Hi Robert, we have released our popular addon Email This Issue for JIRA Cloud. https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.metainf.jira.plugin.emailissue/cloud/overview It contains a workflow post function component through which you can send customized emails with custom fields. See details in the…

Hi Justin, You can develop a Email This Issue template, that defines the email content, like: $issue.assignee said you were blocking $issue.summary And you can select this template in the post function configuration screen. Please see the docs for more details. Tibor
-
Hi Michal, When you extract value from email body, email this issue always uses the text version of the email body to match the regex. Can you please share your regex, your field type and a est email with me? Feel free to send me emails directly to my email address. Tibor
-
Hi, Email This Issue has a mail handler that can initialize issue fields form email content. It can also execute workflow transitions. See details here: http://www.meta-inf.hu/wiki/display/PLUG/Field+Contexts Tibor

Hi René, I phrased it wrongly, auto-acknowledge and Issue Created event notification will work parallelly at the same time. What I wanted to express was that the configuration (recipients, content and format, etc) that you setup in Issue Created event notifictions, will not appliy for auto-acknowledge emails, That's all,…
-
Hi Goran, JETI Mail Handler can send auto-acknowledge emails directly to the sender. This is not an event notification but an email composed using the template selected in "Acknowldge Issues" or "Acknowldge Comments". If you configured the mail handler to send auto-acknowledge emails, configurations in Issue Created event…

Duncan, Email This Issue can do this for you. It saves the non-JIRA reporter's email address in a custom field and you can configure event notifications to notify non-JIRA users including the non-JIRA reporter. Tibor
-
ok, I understand now. Unfortunately, it is not possible to switch off comments but keep email logs.
-
Hi Enzo, comments are not always added when an email is sent using JETI.Comments are created If you explicitly want them by setting a comment visibility option. If you need further help, please let me know.Tibor
-
Hi, You can have both in JETI. Please open your Contexts and enable Email Details in Comments. This setting will make sure the comments will be "This issue has jsut been emailed..." Tibor

Hi Andrew, I believe JIRA handler cannot provide you this dymamic project mapping. However, Cloud addons like JEMH (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.javahollic.jira.jemh-ui/cloud/overview) has this. Our addon Email This Issue…

Hi Jeffery, you may need to use some reports to generate an output detailing the amount of time spent on issues per developer. You cannot query worklog information using JQL. JIRA does not come with a sophisticated time tracking report feature. But there are plenty of time tracking report plugins are available: - One of…

Thank you for your feedback Stephan, I'm going to test this case and will come back to you. Do you insert the comment that was entered during the transition in the template? Where would you use the above velocity fragment?
-
Hi Stephan, Can you explain how you configured JETI to react on closing an issue? Have you setup JETI postfunction attached to the Close transition or you have JETI Notification with Issue Closed event? Regards, Tibor
-
Hi Nancy, It does not matter if a transition remains in the same step, the email should be sent. The most likely causes could be: - post function is not saved correctly, and recipients are not selected - recipients cannot be resolved at the moment the post function is executed, e.g. the custom field of email addresses is…

In order to configure JETI Mail Handler, you must do two steps:1. Configure a Mail Handler in Incoming Mails page of JIRA. Add a handler called Email This Issue Mail Handler2. Add a Mail Handler Context in JETI Admin Screen that matches the Project and Type for the Mail Handler you added in step 1. In the Mail Handler…

Daniel, your case actually applies to both option 1 and 2. An email notification from JIRA includes certain headers that contain a reference to an issue ID (not the Key). When JETI processes the email, it calls the JIRA API to find a matching issue. JIRA then finds the issue by the ID stored in the email header (please…
-
JETI handler depends on JIRA API to associate an incoming email to an existing issue. If such an issue is found, the email body is added as a comment (well this depends on the JETI handler strategy you configure). This means that the email that ended up as a comment contained something that JIRA identified as an existing…

Hi, If you want to display in an issue the size of attachments attached to it, you can use this in a scripted custom field. import com.atlassian.jira.issue.attachment.Attachmentimport com.atlassian.jira.issue.Issueimport java.util.*def sizeAll = {Collection<Attachment> attachments -> def size = 0 for (Attachment attachment…

It looks like the credential details (e.g. password) has been changed on the SMTP account. Please reestablishe the SMTP connections in JIRA with the correct credentials.

Hi, what Michael was referring above was the following: - configure JETI Event notification for Issue Resolved event - in the JETI Notification Event screen, you can set a JQL filter like "component = MyComponent". This will make sure the event is processed only for issues matching the JQL filter - Assign the JETI…
