Hi Anil, The bitbucket.properties file is only created when needed by the application, for example, when migrating to an external database, the file will be created if it doesn't exist. If the file does not exist in $BITBUCKET_HOME/shared feel free to create it and include the SSL configuration that you need. Just make…

Hi Christopher, Can you provide more details about the error you're seeing and how you have the application configured?

Hi Hao, The installation guide does reference that Java needs to be installed when using the archive installation - Install Bitbucket Server on Linux from an archive file. The guide you linked is for upgrading and assumes that you've already installed Java on the system. If you choose to use the installer and Java is not…

Hi Brent, You shouldn't need to change the password to setup the configuration for an outgoing proxy. Instead, we'll make all of the changes in the service configuration for the JVM. To modify the service, there should be a Start Menu shortcut for "Configure Bitbucket Server". Opening this will bring up the service…

Hi Scott, Inside of %BITBUCKET_HOME%/log there will be a atlassian-bitbucket.log and atlassian-bitbucket-mail.log files that should contain more information about why the test mail did not send.

Hi Marcin, In order to downgrade from Bitbucket Server 5.x to 4.14, you would need to restore both the database and Bitbucket Home directory to the previous state before the upgrade. Also, just noting that using GTIDs in MySQL is not supported, more details can be found in BSERV-4964. Using GTIDs is known to cause various…

Hi Vladimir, Can you confirm which version of Stash that you're running? Based on the description and workaround that you found (creating a new tag via Git), I believe you're running into the bug described at BSERV-7658 - Annotated tags pushed to specific commits from REST API do not show in the UI Commits Page. This…

The "Unable to get git version" part of the error message suggests that Git may not be installed on the server. Can you verify that it is by running "git --version" as the user running Fisheye? The Cannot add Git repository in FishEye knowledge base article goes into more detail on how to fix this. Please run through that…
-
Hi, Can you provide the post-receive hook that you're using so I can try to reproduce the problem locally? Also, please confirm the version of Bitbucket Server that you're running. Cheers, Jeff

Can you provide the full command you're using to run the bitbucket-restore-client.jar as well as the backup-config.properties file? Since this is a public forum, please sanitize any sensitive information in the command or file.

Hi Erik, Bitbucket Server does not have the same "Username aliases" feature that Bitbucket Cloud does at the moment. There is an open feature request at BSERV-4603 Committer alias management where we're tracking this, but it's not something that's currently on our roadmap. Bitbucket Server does support Git's .mapmap which…

Hi Wayne, The JIRA Cloud instance needs to be able to talk to the FishEye instance to establish the Application Link. The two applications will talk with each other and set up the consumer key and other details. This is mentioned in the Link to server apps from Cloud documentation.

Great to hear, Darren!

Hi Prameesha, The Community site truncated the URL, which made it a bit hard to read. The ?at=<BRANCH> should come before the line number. For example: ...projects/<PROJECT>/repos/<REPO_NAME>/browse/<FILE_PATH>/<FILE_NAME>?at=<BRANCH>#<LINE_NUMBER>

Hi Jeronimo, You can set server.address in bitbucket.properties to specify which address to bind to. So, server.address=127.0.0.1 should work. I'll work on getting our documentation updated to include this information.
-
Hi Jonathan, Which version of Bitbucket Server are you running? (You should be able to see this in the footer of the page). The download option was adding in Bitbucket Server 5.1.0 see BSERV-2732 for the specific feature request. If you're on an older version (which judging from your screenshot you could be on 5.0), you…

Hi Prameesha, After the <FILE_NAME>, you can add "?at=<BRANCH> to specify the branch you want. https://bitbucket.company.com/projects/<PROJECT>/repos/<REPO_NAME>/browse/<FILE_PATH>/<FILE_NAME>?at=<BRANCH>#<LINE_NUMBER>

This is not Bitbucket Server returning the username and password in the response. Bitbucket Server's response only includes the lines beginning with "remote:". The other lines are all by the Git client. You would see a similar behavior if you did the same set of actions on Bitbucket Cloud or Github where a push was…

Hi Matt, Yes, I'd try either an older version of Mercurial or a newer version of FishEye. For FishEye 3.7, you'll want to use one of the support versions of Mercurial listed at https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/FISHEYE037/Supported+platforms
-
Hi Chris, If you look in the FishEye logs around the time that the developer reported the error, we should be able to find an error related to the popup. Can you check the logs and provide the stacktrace?
-
Hi Matt, Just a few clarifying questions to start: Which version of Mercurial are you using? hg --version Which version of FishEye/Crucible are you running? We may be running into an issue of which version of Mercurial that FishEye supports, for example see https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/FE-5253 where support for…

Hi Saroj, You can have any number of "projects" inside a single repository as long as it meets the Starter License restrictions. Only the repositories under the Repositories page count towards the limits. You can have up to 5 separate repositories You can have up to 10 historical committers per repository More details at…

Hi Jorge, That error shouldn't prevent Bitbucket Server from starting. Instead, there should be an error earlier in the logs which triggers the shutdown. I'd also suggest looking in the Windows Event logs which should provide more details on why the service failed to start.
-
Do you have the username/password set in the Remotes URL? git remote -v If so, you'd need to remove the password from the remote URL. As an alternative you can look at using SSH which won't show any passwords.

Sounds good, Darren. Let us know how the upgrade to 4.10 and migration go.
-
Hi Darren, The closed_timestamp column did not exist until an upgrade to Bitbucket Server 4.10. So, it appears that at some point, your MSSQL database was upgraded to at least 4.10. On the first start of a new version, all of the DB upgrade tasks will be run. In order to roll back to a previous version, you must restore…

What specifically happens when you try to login? There are a few items that are different in the nginx configuration from the documentation that's link that might fix the issues you're running into. "proxy_redirect off;" is commented out, is this for a specific reason? "server.secure=true" should be set to false or removed…

@Robert Bryan, if you navigate to http://stash.company.com/admin do you have access? Do you see a link for Atlassian Support Tools there? If not, you'll need the System Admin global permission to see it.
-
Hi Ryan, just confirming that I was able to reproduce this same issue with a similar setup to yours. At this time, I'm not aware of any workarounds at the moment. I'm also looking into where the HTML is coming from since the shell script doesn't returning any and I can't see anything in External Hooks that would add it.

Hi Sergei, Based on the stacktrace, I suspect the issue lies with the license being used for Bitbucket Server. In order to take a closer look and provide more information in a private channel, could you raise a support request at https://support.atlassian.com and provide a link to this ticket as well as your license?
