let me update this... you can add different workflows per issue-type. inside this workflows you can set properties. so if you plan to add a workflow for issue-type "Story" forget this line jira won't make a difference if it is a story or a bug or whatever you configured as an issuetype.

create a copy of the one you feel that would match best and add your QA step and in/out transitions to it. you may need to create the status befor...not a big deal though. you gonna get used to it..trust me
