Create a dummy user. In issue navigator query for all issues where this user is reporter or assigneeBulk edit the results and change them to the dummy user. The more comfortable way is to simply deactivate the user who left. He can't login no more

well in that case i think you will have to prepare the target to fit all the sources parameters first switching to DEBUG on logging often shows better infos on failure during any process

importing only a project requires that you have same configuration on the target & source. that means any non-standard states,fields,reslutions etc that you added on the source Instance must be on the target before you can perform this migration. you could restore the source on the destination instace using the full xml…

So if you try to open the issue you get a permission denied message?

can you confirm that the new issue security level is applied to all of the issues you wanted to? do i understand it right, that your activity stream shows issues that you shouldn't be able to see because of the new security level ? i suggest checking if the security scheme is set up correctly and assigned to the project…

yes. you need to build a new workflow where you set the destination step of the first transition to resolved instead of open. does that help?

Can you upgrade on a local host?If so just grab latest export and import it into you local Installation which is the same version your exported file is from. Then upgrade confluence there and export

So you should update you local installation first. The upgrade to the eap that ondemand is using. Export spaces then and try to Import them in ondemand.
