So you are saying that the "limitation" is that service-desk customers who can not log into Confluence can not search for things outside their service-desk knowledge base?
-
/lib in the Jira installation is for the main database driver for Jira. The plugin you are using seems to need (a copy) somewhere else. Generally, plugins should not need a database driver, they normally read and write Jira data via the API, and there's only a small handful of apps that do try to read databases (either…

No sane organisation would stop everything else they are doing in order to consolidate and integrate one thing that they have acquired. An organisation like Atlassian has dozens of products and services, and they have aspirations to do grow and do more. You are asking 10,000 people to stop doing anything until a new thing…

That looks like you have not put the oracle driver in the right place (or not made it usable by the Jira user, but that's a rare mistake, I only mention it for completeness). Apps tend not to use the main database driver that Jira uses to connect to its database, they usually need it installed in the Tomcat or often the…
-
That's not a limitation, you have not given them accounts that have access to Confluence.
-
We can't debug this any further without knowing what the errors are - you need to read the logs and see what the connection attempts are telling you what is failing.

Welcome to the Atlassian Community! First hit on any search is https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/installing-jira-data-center-938846870.html

Welcome to the Atlassian Community! The only "limitation" on search in Confluence is that people can not see stuff that they do not have the permission to see a target page. For JSM customers, they only have access to the knowledge-bases linked to the JSM portals they can see. So I'm a bit stuck on what you mean by…

Welcome to the Atlassian Community! This just means that your admins have allowed you to see these projects. It's probably by default, Jira's default project permissions include "any logged in user can see this"

Hi Suseendran, Do you mean you want to automate what goes into the group picker, or do you want to change the selection being offered to the users when they are in the create screen? If it is the second, then have you thought about using a cascading-select list for this instead of trying to automate? If that won't work for…

Welcome to the Atlassian Community! Absolutely not. You do not want to do this, because a) your data is being corrupted by your app and b) Jira will be too slow to be usable if you disable the caching. Remove your app immediately, it is corrupting your data. You need to rewrite it, removing all the code that corrupts your…

A scripted field is used to present data based on existing data, they are not for asking for data during an action. There is no way to filter on a value that you have not yet given to Jira - it needs to be told what you want to do.
-
It's the same question - what errors are you finding in the logs when your apps try to use the database link?
-
I am still not sure exactly what you are looking for, but https://library.adaptavist.com might have what you need

Welcome to the Atlassian Community! Please, do not mistake story points for time. A story point is not a day, an hour, a week, etc. A story point is an evaluation of how complicated an issue is compared with the other issues in your list of things to do. If you want to work in days or hours, that's fine, but please move to…

Welcome to the Atlassian Community! You should add the "new window/tab" in your link. Technically, the web does not support this, but you can easily trick it into doing it. For example <a href="https://somewhere.com" target="_blank">Somewhere</a>

Welcome to the Atlassian Community! Assets is something Atlassian acquired, relatively recently, not wrote, and they are trying to integrate into JSM as best they can. The original product was not closely aligned with the way Jira does things, so it is slow going. (But the original product worked as well as it could given…

Welcome to the Atlassian Community! We could write quite a long essay about writing Groovy scripts for Jira, but it would probably not help you a lot. Could you narrow it down a bit? What app are you using to put the scripts into, and, more importantly, what sort of things do you want to use your scripts for?

Welcome to the Atlassian Community! Is this for a particular Atlassian system, or is it about your Atlassian account in general? (Also, check status.atlassian.com in case there is a known problem at the moment) If you're not sure, then try to log into id.atlassian.com with your account. * If you can, then you will need to…

@Laurie Sciutti - is the Alcatraz thing a "it's local, so I can go any time (and then never do)" thing? Like most of my school friends never went to the Reading festival despite it being a 15 minute walk for most and we knew the people on the doors who would let us in for free?
-
Welcome to the Atlassian Community! We can't help you with this. You have triggered a charge somehow, and you will need to talk to Atlassian about the bill for it. (We're a community of people here to talk about Atlassian, we have no access to the billing systems). Go to either https://support.atlassian.com/contact or…

It has evolved over the years, and I don't think it is particularly clear any more (I started with Atlassian stuff using what I called "plain Jira", just the two layers, and I've evolved with it, but I can still see it can look complex from the outside) I hope what I wrote at least clarifies how Jira thinks about the…
-
Hi Reuben, I think it's worth a quick look at how Jira handles issue types in hierarchies, rather than getting buried in the phraseology. Plain Jira has a very simple structure, and in Jira-speak, we have * Issues - the core of Jira issue tracking. You can have issue types with lots of different names at this level, and I…

Again, that is an app, not a native Confluence function, as I said earlier. It is also another app from my own Adaptavist group. The article specifically states this: * 1️⃣ Tabs for Confluence - adds a tab macro to Confluence. * 2️⃣ Content Formatting Macros for Confluence - adds a tab macro plus extra macros to structure…
-
So if you are in the security levels for one project, the other possibilities are: * The issue security scheme for the current project simply doesn't have other levels * You do not have the "set security level" permission (which is nothing to do with admin rights - admin is about admin, not issues)
-
Both of those videos are about Adaptavist's Content Formatting App, not the built-in macros. (The app is now run by Kolekti, who are part of the Adaptavist group, but I still spend a lot of time working with them)
-
Ah, ok. Confluence has never had a Tab macro, but there are several apps that provide them. I suspect your previous system had one of these installed. Obviously, as an Adaptavist, I'm going to mention the content formatting app, but there are others in the marketplace that provide them.

Welcome to the Atlassian Community! I don't have any access to the tracking metrics of individuals, but I can talk a bit about numbers. Last time I spoke to Community managers here, we were recording over 5,000,000 unique hits on pages every month (unique being from a specific logged-in user, or from a different IP address…

I am a bit stuck on what you want now. The "folders" is something not native to Confluence, it only has a page tree. All the functions that provide tabs that I know of do not replicate the page tree, they place tabs on pages such that a single page is broken up into.
-
Yes, when I use a user who has the right permissions.
