When you say embedded, is this using the Filter Results Gadget? You should be able to dictate the field order on the page and have it "stick"

If I understand the question, a Kanban Board (like any board) is driven by what is returned through a filter. And then the visibility a person has to the those issues is driven by permissions. So you can create one board and one filter to pull in all issues. The risk is the amount of data being pulled in. You may need to…

Your problem is not unique (not by a longshot!). The trick is to get the "humans" to agree to a process and set of terms - Primarily Issue Types, Statuses (and workflow), Priorities, Fields, and of course Roles. If someone says "There is a SEV2 Problem with the Production Customer Web", everyone should have a common…

Here is a start ... I tested at jira.atlassian.com. If you know the story id, you can use this: key in linkedIssues("MP-88") and you'll get the 10 linked issues. I am fairly certain there is a way to convert that hard coded "MP-88" into something dynamic (e.g. JQL of its own) but hopefully this function will get you going.

I haven't done much with the built in automation; with that disclaimer in mind, the REST API exposes (IMHO) every object you need to automate in and outside of Jira. As you mentioned you are a software shop, put together something like this: * Set up a filter in Jira that identifies the automation candidates. Can be as…

you may find the REST API Changelog endpoints useful in this case. Depending on how many tickets and how many updates you have to sift through -- sometimes its just easier to retrieve the ticket and copy paste from the log. On the opposite end of the spectrum, if you have a ton of comments to re-enter, the ChangeLog…

Are you the only one who cannot add a label? If no one else is adding labels either, I'd look into whether the field is included on your create or edit screen. It's been a while since I've done a lot of admin work --- but seems to me if labels isn't on those screens, you won't be able to add any.

The CSV Import is found on the filter screen. I don't know if everyone has access to it or if there is a permissions setting. You could also consider using the REST api. Let me know if you have questions.

Best I can tell, you need to look in two places: * Issues created after the Start of the Sprint that are tied to your sprint. * Issues that reflect a Sprint Change in the Change Log For #1 (Issues Created After the Start of the Sprint) SELECT b.NAME SprintBoardName, b.ID SprintBoardID, S.NAME SprintName, s.ID sprintID,…

I've used some Excel VBA scripts for quite some time to accomplish what is being asked ... but it takes a couple of REST Calls. Maybe this solution will give you some pointers Summary: * Auth Call : /rest/auth/1/session * Get Filter Definition : /rest/api/2/filter/inFilterId* From this you will want the "jql" property) *…

Even if you have administrator ability you still have to meet the conditions of a transition. Looks like you got around the problem; otherwise it sounds like you needed to be in a role with close issues permissions.

Nic is correct in his explanation. Another alternative is to set up a filter that looks for new issues of a specific type created in the past "x" minutes. Run a subscription at that same (or shorter) interval and you can get an email sent when those new issues appear. But it is not an immediate notification (as is Nic's…

One other complexity that you may want to consider – we have more than one customer in our support project and they're not allowed to see each other's issues. So our customers are in three groups.... jira-users, our-customer, and customer-X. The customer-X group further restricts the visibility of an issue using Security…

If your post function isn't letting you in to edit, one trick that may help is changing the order of the post functions in the transition (e.g. move up or down). But it sounds like your issue now is the existence of two draft workflows. Can you copy the workflow to some other name? If not, can you export to XML and then…

We ran into a similar issue with a user that was an employee (lots of permissions) that went to work for a client with limited access to our JIRA instance. The problem – the user still had all their old groups even though it was not reflected that way under user management. The solution - I found the "orphaned"…
