Try using a special Link Type to connect the JPD tickets to the related tickets. Then Advanced JQL project = "SplitDime Development" and issueLink in (SSSB-2) and issueLinkType = "is connected to"

I am not familiar with GitKraken. But 1/2 of your answer may be in the the history table of your work items. If you can get a list of "oprhaned" git Kraken Ticket Keys, then you can use that to find the new items. If you go one by one scripted, perhaps you can script updates in GitKracken as well? An Example: * I just…

I voted for two responses -- both essentially recommend engaging with someone who can help you determine your needs then buy (or build) a solution. My motto >>> API + PowerBI = Unlimited Reporting. That's how I (as a developer) would it. Other people have other tools in their "favorites" toolbags as they mention in their…

I think eveyone is nibbling around the edges without enough detail (as am I) ... but I will add to the conversation (I hope): * Determine the JQL your board is using though the board settings * Go to the Filter Navigator and create a filter with that logic. Call the saved filter anything you want (e.g.…

REST API + Power BI = Unlimted Reporting options Think of this as providing the raw data for a pivot table. In the example below --this shows estimates and effort; easily filtered by team or any other field in your issues as needed. In the second screenshot, the report has data rolled up by month and week This final…

Understand that I do not work for Atlassian -- but you should be able to get information at these links. I do not know if there is any bundled price advantage... but as an example, be sure to consider if everyone needs access to each of the apps. Also, most of the "collections" say you get access to the platform as well.…

Hey there. My fivecents * Apps (plugins) are a great way to enhance the functionality of the Atlassian Suite. They are typically well documented, tested, and easy to install. * Apps also "make sense" when you have a feature the majority of your team will use and this feature is best used within the Jira UI. * Jira is 20+…

@Aaron Pavez _ServiceRocket_ is giving a good first step; another think you can look at (and it is a bit of a hack) is to examine any custom fields that are tied to the app. Using the admin screen Aaron mentioned in his answer, I found the "app key" Then using the rest endpoint "field", i got a list of all custom fields.…

@Mike - Dreamsuite Consulting - Thanks for the sanity check there. I guess I started down the path of trying to find an answer and when I realized it was Trello, I thought 'd see what CHatGPT offered. I let my guard down because I also catch ChatGPT errors all the time. I will delete my answer to remove any confusion.…

REST API + PowerBI = Unlimited Reporting Power. The REST APIS are free. I happen to be a Microsoft guy so I use PowerBI for reporting and (as needed) I may use Excel for extracting data. https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/jira/service-desk/rest/intro/ I know there are limitations to the way I choose to do it .... * I'm…

An Update -- I see your question was really about ROLE and not PERMISSION. * https://splitdimedata.atlassian.net/rest/api/3/project/10013/role * https://splitdimedata.atlassian.net/rest/api/3/project/10013/role/10002 The first Endpoint will give you roles in the project . The second endpoint gives you the role details and…

I believe you can get there with the APIs if you want to continue down that path. Try this :-) . https://splitdimedata.atlassian.net/rest/api/3/user/permission/search?projectKey=DEV&permissions=BROWSE Docmentation is here…

I have removed my erroneous answer. (I don't see a way to delete it) Thanks

Dave's Pizza Challenge Hello again. @Ryan Hormann . I'm an old man and it really is okay to laugh at my "get off my lawn" attitude on this one. :-) . So no hard feelings either way. But: 1. see the screenshot below. I set one of these up weeks ago to show someone else and it runs everyday. You can use this approach on ANY…

@Susan Waldrip thanks. Funny about Y2K... my career started as a mainframe COBOL/IMS/DB2 programmer. Luckily for me I had moved into Project Management and Data Warehousing when everyone else was trapped converting date logic. It's interesting how many people think Y2k was a hoax. Anyone with their hands in code at that…

Hello again. I think you are getting good information on Date Handling in Automation. I'm not trying to necessarily spin up a new answer for the sake of having a new answer, but as I mentoned in my comments above, I think you have a real "why would you do this" question looming. * Since there can be multiple versions on…

Hello -- @Chris Rogers - Good documentaiton link! @Brian Preuss - Can you use one of the timezone conversion functions in the documentation provided? My "value add" here --- * keep in mind one Jira Work Item can have many FIx Versions. I'd be interested in the use case and how the multiple versions impact it. * FixVersion…

Agree with Rik. Note -- you have to have a Premium License to do more than 2 levels. You describe the need for three. If you want to save yourself a ton of potential problems -- come up with new name for the top of your list. (I see Initiative used frequently). So you'd have Initiative > Epic > Story instead of…
-
Alright -- I have to agree with John on this one as well... it is a bit quirky and I used to notice it more on changes to field layouts. But make you change, execute your search, then save. If you try to save without searching first, I think you can lose your filter changes.

Agreed if you can get the items imported and do the "Parent" connection in Bulk Edit, that is a viable work around. One more suggestion --- you aren't violating your Work Item Hierarchy by chance, are you? (Trying to hook up the wrong level Parent). And as a reminder -- to eliminate the "do you have valid data" question, *…

if you can tolerate my 8 minute video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EP-VJRzrdrg.. you can see how to use the free REST API to Excel spreadsheet from the SplitDimeData.com website. https://splitdimedata.com/downloads I'm not selling anything. At least not until early next year :-)

Jira doesn’t have a native “edit only certain issue types” permission, but you can accomplish it using a project role plus workflow properties. Here is an example: * "Johnny Epic" can only edit Epics * "Suzy Universe" can edit anything Create a role for Epic Editors * Add Johnny to this role. (Do not change Suzy) * Remove…

This may or may not help -- but if you use the rest api field endpoint like this, you can get all the details about your fields. And I'm guessing the "_" is part of the problem. Note - your custom field Id will be different than mine. Thanks https://ecosystem.atlassian.net/rest/api/3/field

@Bill Sheboy -- LOL .. I was working on an update when your comment came in. This has been a fun one to collaborate on. @Ryan Hormann . I think there is a Cost/Benefit for all the work we as admins do. And the need to send reminder email once a day has been a "use case" for Jira since its early days. Automation is very…
-
Also --do you have create issue permission in the project? A CSV import mimics a create from the UI. All rules and permissions apply.

* What is the non-ascii character warning you are getting? Maybe a Line Feed ? (I see the warning in your screen shot) * Back slashes "/" are sometimes used as escape characters. * Are there any required fields either in our field context or workflow steps? Try importing a single issue. Debug one and then add a second. You…

Valid Points and of course we're all here to help and learn. I did a quick test and there is something called "StatusCategoryChangeDate" (That I honestly did not know about nor have I used before). Screenshot below. If Ryan wants to know for certain the number of days since the Stauts Was Set, then he could attach that…

After some additional research I think @Trudy P Claspill has the right approach. Here is some more infornation on Atlassian Guard: https://www.atlassian.com/licensing/atlassian-guard#managing-roles

Good afternoon. I am well versed in field configuraions but not so much with form fields. So I am sharing what I asked ChatGPT and it's response. I hope this helps you, but also points out ChatGPT can be very helpful in answering these types of questions. I asked: in Jira, custom fields have a concept of "context" which…

if you can use CHROME, go to chrome://extensions/ and install the LinkGrabber Extensions. It's one of my personal favorites
