Great explanation by @Aron Gombas _Midori_ ! Just adding a bit more context that might help. The X-RateLimit-Limit: 0 you're seeing is actually a known behaviour — a value of 0 doesn't mean "zero allowed", it typically means the limit is being enforced at the org/tenant level rather than per-endpoint, and the header is…

Quick insight from early installs: The most common culprit we’re seeing? JQL searches running in a loop. A single badly-written JQL automation can exhaust the concurrent request pool and silently block every other integration on the instance — including ones that have nothing to do with Jira. QuotaWatch makes this visible…
-
Pro tip for anyone reading: Open DevTools → Network tab → filter by status:429. Leave it running in the background for 10 minutes while your automations fire. You might be surprised what you find silently failing right now

🔗 QuotaWatch on the Atlassian Marketplace: Here Now that CHANGE-2958 is fully live, how are other #JiraAdmins monitoring their API usage? Curious whether teams have built internal tooling, or whether most are flying blind.

Quick update: The most common culprit we're seeing people discover with QuotaWatch so far? JQL searches running on an infinite loop. A single bad JQL script can chew through your concurrent request limit and block everything else.
-
Just had a DM from an admin asking if this applies to Jira Server/Data Center. Just to clarify for everyone: No. This specific 429 cost-based rate limiting is unique to Jira Cloud architecture. If you recently migrated to Cloud, this is probably why your old scripts are suddenly 'buggy'.
-
Pro Tip for anyone reading: If you want to see if this is happening to you right now, open your browser's DevTools, go to the Network tab, and filter by status:429. You might be surprised at what you see dropping in the background.

You can view the QuotaWatch on Marketplace here

How often do your sprints slip because no one realized a ticket was stuck in 'Code Review' or 'QA' until the retrospective? We built StatusClock to give you real-time visual alerts instead of post-sprint autopsies. What is the most common hidden bottleneck in your current workflow?
-
Hi @Jack Brickey I mentioned you because of your deep expertise in the Atlassian ecosystem as I've following some of the community champions for some time, your feedback on the app would be beneficial for us. !

Interesting side effect: large JQL searches in dashboards could also impact quota. Gadgets refreshing every few minutes with 100+ issues could accumulate a lot of points during the day. Curious if anyone has tested how dashboards contribute to the new quota system?
-
Quick question for the community:Which status in your workflow tends to accumulate the most stuck issues?
-
P.S. StatusClock also lets you configure working days and holidays, so the time calculation reflects the actual number of business days an issue has been in a status. This helps teams avoid misleading durations caused by weekends or non-working days and focus only on the time that truly impacts the sprint.
-
One thing many Jira admins underestimate is how much automation rules contribute to API usage. A rule running every 5 minutes with a JQL query returning 50+ issues could consume thousands of points in a single day. With the new quota model, it might be worth reviewing high-frequency rules. Curious if anyone has already…
-
P.S. : For the Space Admins, you can easily configure work days as per your working pattern.
-
@chihara there is no such cost estimation tool but you can calculate manually, see Atlassian article explaining the details
-
@Arkadiusz Wroblewski 😄 Glad it helped — better to catch it now than debug silent 429s later! 🙌
-
One thing I didn't mention — each API call costs different amounts of points. A simple GET for one issue costs 2 points (1 base + 1 per object), but a search returning 50 issues costs 51 points in a single call. Writes are cheap — just 1 point each. So it's really the read-heavy operations like bulk JQL queries and syncs…
-
P.S Admins here You can configure the working days as per your requiremnet and it computes age based on actual changelog transitions and allows: Custom working days Public holidays Alternate Saturdays Local work patterns For teams in India, the Middle East, or distributed worldwide, this is a game-changer. The numbers are…

P.S. For the product people out there – yes, you can filter the result of the important board changes, no AI involved; let your Jira extract Facts that you can act 🛠️
-
P.S. For the admins, you can configure the Freshness levels at space level also, and perform bulk operations too.
-
P.S. For the admins out there – yes, you can configure different thresholds for different spaces along with global configuration for all spaces! and also can verify pages in bulk 🛠️

This is such an important point. What I’ve seen is that CUGs often do drive outcomes, but the signals are scattered across Jira activity, meetings, and follow-ups, so it’s hard to translate them into an executive-ready story. One thing that’s helped some groups is making daily work more visible before it ever reaches the…
-
This really hits home. I've seen the same thing happen, not because people don't care, but because the waiting is almost invisible day to day. This is actually one of the reasons I built Daily Standup Governance for Jira. We noticed that reviews and blockers usually don’t feel urgent because they don’t clearly show up in…
-
this can be one of the way @Mohamad Khalife but you'll not able to get details of the reason why standups are conducted, viz. Active blockers for the sprint to deliver desired results. We've identified the these user pains and created Daily Standup Governance for Jira which will list all active blockers to facilitator and…

This comes up a lot, and yes, you can absolutely use Jira without turning standup into a note-taking exercise @Rafal Sroka This is exactly what Daily Standup Governance for Jira does. Instead of developers writing “done / to-do” notes, the app auto-builds the standup from Jira itself: Done = issues the developer actually…
