This is definitely a constant source of low-level anxiety for me whenever I have to manage a Cloud environment. Emails, the "what's new" list, and "release tracks" are great attempts to message out, but I do feel like there's just too much changing too quickly in too big a pool for me to keep up with in anything…

Hey @Sekajipo Taplah sorry to mention you directly, but could you please get CONFCLOUD-66752 reopened? There's references to this functionality being the fix for that ticket, but it's an entirely separate request.

If there's no transition at all, then you would need to add one in order to fix the accidental closure. If JIRA is not letting you add it: 1) Open your workflow and make a new copy. 2) Edit the copy with the transition you need and save it. 3) Open your workflow scheme and replace the old workflow with the new one.

You'll need an add-on to give you a "field required" validator - I know Jira Suite Utilities includes this, but I bet there are others. Once you have this, you would add a screen to the transitions to your "done" statuses so that the user is prompted for the field, and then a validator to make sure it's not empty at the…

I am not current on Git's API's, but I bet you could build an automation rule to do this if you didn't want to use SR; there is an action called "send web request" which you can use to hit endpoints directly.

This feature is present in Data Center, but not in Server :)

Every Jira issue is connected to a workflow through the 'workflow scheme' used in that project. Each issue can only move between statuses if there is a transition between them. For more info on workflows, see here. It sounds like you are looking at issues where either there is no exit transition OR any transitions that…

Imagine Jira came to life and was a person, what kind of person would they be? Jira's an absent-minded professor. Just when you've finally convinced yourself they're not listening to you as they fiddle away on a crystal radio, they startle you with some deep insightful comment which strikes to the heart of your problem…

This condition is explicitly about groups, so I don't believe you could use either the single or multi-user picker fields here. In addition to the single and multi-group pickers, I know you can use the single select list; my guess is that you could use others as well as long as the result is a string. The key would be…

Workflow conditions are used to control who can use a particular transition; they cannot be used to restrict editing of specific fields directly. Indirectly, you could: * Make a new screen with your two custom fields * Put that screen on an "any" to "any" transition (i.e. the source and destination statuses are "any", so…

Sure! There are TONS of plugins out there that would solve this. - Tempo is probably the most common time tracking "replacement" app; in short, it's what happens when someone rebuilds the "work log" functionality to make it fully-featured. It is definitely on the "feature-rich" end of the spectrum. - There are a bunch of…
-
The "work log" is a distinct object within JIRA and associated to the person who actually filed the work log (i.e. NOT the assignee of the ticket) so the data is being recorded as I think you would need it. The challenge is reporting on it; as far as I am aware, you cannot really do anything with the data out-of-the-box,…
-
Hi Katie, Can you confirm which "timesheet function" you are referring to? Is this the normal work log functionality or an add-on like Tempo? FYI, it does sound like work logs might get you what you need, as they are filed (and therefore associated) with specific individuals.

Hi Mela, This might be possible using a reverse-proxy, but that would be a complicated and very custom configuration; there is nothing in the application that would help you do this. Two things that off the top of my head would complicate this: * Cloud doesn't let you do custom domain anything. It's possible to do…

Your scrum board can be configured to use "Story Points" or "Time Tracking" but it's one or the other; you cannot use both at once in the same place. If you are estimating your stories and tasks in points, then it sounds like your board is configured to use points; this would result in your sub-tasks, whose "story points"…

This is a third-party tool\service which runs "on top" of your JIRA instance. It's currently living at http://www.jiraassistant.com/.

You should be able to click on the "create" transition (the one that comes out of the grey sphere) and move the other end to any status you want. If you are on Cloud and/or the workflow is active, you may not be able to remove the status (you'll get an error). To get around this: * clone your workflow * remove the status…
-
You tell this condition which "single group picker" custom field on your issue you want to use. It then hides this transition from any user who is not a member of the group identified. For example, * Your issue has a "single group picker" custom field called "Approvers". * On the "Approve" transition out of the "Pending…

To be clear, this is the old "info panel" and not the "panel" macro correct?

Hey Larry, I was able to do this in Cloud by: - Creating a custom field to hold my project names and keys. I used a multi-select, since I need the ability to create multiple tickets, but I tested using a single select and it works the same. My naming convention is "TEAM NAME (PROJECT KEY)" - After my trigger and…
-
I have managed to get this working, but only in a pretty hack-y way. I am going to keep testing, but I wanted to get some kind of solution up to see if anyone could think of anything better. Rule 1: Trigger: Scheduled (for my tests I ran this every 4 hours, but you could do it on your own schedule). For my JQL, I looked…

I just realized this was for Cloud; apologies for missing that flag. I am pretty sure ScriptRunner for Cloud doesn't allow scripted fields, but there may be other plugins out there that would do this summing specifically on Cloud. Let me build a rule in Automation and post a screenshot - off the top of my head I think it…
-
I have a very similar use-case (we use an "Escalation Team" field to identify which team should be owning an incident), and the way we worked around this issue was to: 1) Include the project key of the destination in the custom field options. As example our team "Optimus Prime" uses the JIRA project with the key "PRIME" so…
-
I don't think there's anything in "off the shelf" JIRA that would do this for you - theoretically you could write some SQL, but if you're messing around in the database you are probably doing something wrong in any case :) Either 'Automation' or 'ScriptRunner' would give you the tools you need to accomplish this...I have…
-
The quickest and best solution I can think of would be to use a ScriptRunner scripted field living on the sub-task to show the value of the field from the parent. - It's inherently always going to be accurate because it's just a view of the parent, so you don't need to worry about listening for changes and then keeping…

@Cameron Deatsch, to Tobias' point, I am fairly certain that is not how competitive advantage\threats works. If all of your competitors are SaaS vendors, then you currently have a competitive advantage by offering something they do not. By eliminating that offering and creating a gap in your offerings, Atlassian has both…
-
Adding my voice to the multitudes. This decision infuriates me because... 1) I don't like being lied to. Atlassian says the rationale is to "focus on Cloud" but the Server and Data Center codebases are the same and they say they're not getting rid of Data Center. This makes negative sense: if you are keeping Data Center…
-
Hi @Priyanka khare , in that case you would just need to add a second 'if' clause to show the field if "NA" is selected.
-
Hi Denise, Unfortunately while JIRA is pretty good at tracking things, it's not super good about reporting on them - there really isn't a way to do what you're after in JIRA out of the box. Based on what you're looking to do and that you are on Cloud, I'm not sure dashboards would work; there are some plugins out there…
-
If you've got ScriptRunner installed, then you can use the 'Behaviors' function to do this pretty easily. Adaptavist has an example in their library on how to do this, but their example is maybe a little more complicated than it needs to be. Here's my example, show\requiring two custom fields if the "Yes" option in the…
