In my experience, being able to replicate the hierarchy of nested Office365 groups in Azure Entra (formally AD) would have far wider appeal than Work Day. But as you don't support nested groups for SCIM in Atlassian Guard (last time I checked) so I would not expect support for it in the Teams feature.

Hi @Ash Young , Thank you for the reply. Allow lists do work, and we used them one point, but a complete lockdown was not viable in our situation. As a workaround we use Automations to check Entra and add a big warning to any requests logged from an unknown user, allowing our vendors to still log requests for our agents to…

Does this finally allow us to auto-provision portal access for guest accounts registered in Microsoft Entra that do not belong to our claimed domain? (e.g. if we claim asdf.com and the customer belongs to fdsa.com but is registered as a Guest in our Entra). It would be great to finally prevent random emails from creating a…

This all very well, but organisations are useless for companies following the Hybrid strategy. This is due to the inability to disable the Share with organisation button on Service Requests. The only workaround is to ensure that nobody is added to an organisation. See https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSDCLOUD-7057

This is a great move forward towards making Teams a core feature of all products in the Atlassian ecosystem! Looking forward to hearing more about "team types". I'm hoping that this will be linked to the proposed Organisational Units feature in JSM to fix Organisations. We had to disable the Organisations feature in JSM as…

My personal opinion is Confluence Whitebaords for everyone, followed by Lucid Suite over Miro and Figma, but only for the few power users who need the extra features. I'd suggest looking at the licencing. In particular consider the "cost to view" in isolation to the "Cost to build". If you need to pay a little bit more per…

I don't have time for a full hour, but here are my top three issues that really bug me: 1.) The lack of chevrons in the side bar. Please add them so it is consistent with the Confluence page navigation. It makes it so much easier to navigate a side bar, especially when you have several levels to expand like in JSM. It will…

Here's a novel use case for you. I'm working in the Infrastructure Construction Industry. The majority of our users are JSM as agents, rather than Jira Software/Business. Typical workflow is as follows: 1.) Open work item from queue view 2.) Scroll down through to review description, comments etc... 3.) Take action, add…

Does it impact the Customer experience in JSM, or is it only fully licensed Jira / JSM Agents / Confluence users?
-
Thanks @April Chi . This is great news. Teams being across all sites in an Org was a limitation for Consultancy orgs that have a site per customer to better segregate data. In that case, team names needed to be obscure to prevent giving away your who you're workign with, and seeing more teams than relevant cluttered the…

Two tools to help with understanding your MTTR that JSM lacks that Jira Software includes is the Cumulative Flow report and the Control Report. The cumulative flow helps you spot any bottlenecks in the flow of activities against a request. The Control Graph lets you identify specific tickets that are bringing down your…
-
This is a good write up, I just want to re-iterate your point that MTTR needs to be paired with CSAT. There is a big danger in emphasising only MTTR in your employee KPIs as it encourages those employees to game the system by "resolving" tickets when the issue is not actually resolved. I'm confident that most of us have…

In addition, consider upgrading to Jira Premium, as it includes an Archive feature, allowing users to hide the clutter of completed work items as well as those pesky deleted items. This lets you disable delete for all users whilst leaving archive enabled. You'll need to be mindful of this for every newly created project…

Thanks @Matt Di Berardino ! Good to know. I'll post a tip of the day to our Project Admins. I guess my feedback has changed is please consider why I couldn't figure this out, and why none of the users I just talked to could intuit it was possible either. Firstly, the navigation approach is inconsistent between the team…

Whilst this will be good for some projects to allow a single overview, what I want is to be able to choose to setup unique boards to suite each specific stream of work. As it stands, I think I'll still need to setup business projects as Jira Software Company Managed projects where several unique boards are supported.

One danger to be aware of with using separate create and edit screens is that if you are importing from CSV, you may be limited to the fields available on the create screen. An alternative for a better UX in capturing new work items, would be to leverage forms. These have been around for a while in JSM, and are a real game…

Thanks for the write up on one of the most forgotten field within in Jira. I'm not sure I am in agreement with the tip to set resolution early, but whatever works for your team is what is important for you. After 20 years of Jira and many different workflows, I've found it best to align the resolution to a "green" status.…

This is great. We had a need to archive teams! It'll help remove the clutter. Currently as a solo admin, I don't want emails about me archiving teams. I know, I did it. However, I vote for you to send them anyway, so the system is consistent with how archiving of Jira Sites and Confluence Sites works. Consistency is…

This is a nice example of how the forced simplicity of Whiteboards removes much of the "techno babble" from diagrams making them easier for staff who are not classically trained on UML to come to grips with the concepts without being overwhelmed by needing to know the minute details about each style of crows-foot arrow. At…
-
@NIHARIKA PANNALA , For the use-case you described, I typically do not use a Jira Custom Field, but instead use a `Property`. Properties are visible to Automations and the APIs, but not visible to users. If you need to use them in filters/dashboards then you need a custom field. I haven't done this in a while, but from…

I'm looking forward to these changes! Over the last 20 years, I can't explain the number of times I've had a conversation along the line of "are we talking about a project or a project?" or "No, I meant issues in a ticket, rather than 'issue' being a specific issue type that came out of your PMBOK risk register". So much…

I've been using Confluence Whiteboards since the closed beta as well as Miro. The cost to upgrade to Premium is cheaper than miro licenses, assuming 1:1 user ratio. Functional wise... Miro was superior, but now it's mostly the user's familiarity with the tool that impacts their productivity with one over the other, and…

This is needed! That list view confused the heck out of users due to how differently it worked. Will the new "List" tab under a project auto-filter to show only results from the project it is under as per the current "List" view? Although it's not something I get confused with after 22 years of using Jira, I've observed a…

@christopher.branaman . boards seem to be limited when dealing with reporting across multi-project workstreams. Have you tried exploring the "Goals" and "Projects" features (formally Atlas), as well as "Plans" (formally called Advanced Roadmaps)? These are intended to help manage work that's spread across several projects.…

Something missing from this is one of the benefits of a manually updated kanban board (such as a physical one on the wall) is the communication that occurs as the cards are manually moved by team members. The digital kanban board in Jira does not provide this opportunity as cards magically move fro one column to another.…

Looking forward to it! A benefit not mentioned is that preparing for the Atlassian Certification exams won't require learning two separate ways of editing workflows.
-
@Rune Rasmussen , it's live on my instance, using the new UI. @Susan Hauth _Jira Queen_ , the new navigation brings what you are asking for, the board is on the horizontal navigation at the top of the page when viewing the queue.
-
Fantastic! Can we please have a cumulative flow report available for each board?

This is great progression towards competing with the vast library of integrations that ServiceNow boasts, making JSM a more attractive solution. Now that Automations are getting viable for more business use cases, my biggest concern is maintainability and BCP. How do teams ensure their Disaster Recovery playbooks in their…
