Nice enhancement. Subtle enough not to add to the change fatigue. Our user's next most desired quality of life enhancement... 1.) for JSM projects, can the chevrons (i.e. > v icons) be made permanently visible and consistent with how Confluence pages work. This makes it much easier to see which JSM project is expanded. I…

It seems change fatigue is starting to set in and cause frustration. Please give it a couple of months to let people get used to the new UI, the rename of Project to Space, and Issue to Work.

Honestly, I avoid that view as much as possible since we shifted to using Confluence Whiteboards for visualising our sprints. It lets us layer the Goals, Ways of Working, Resource Allocation etc all into one view, and lets us use two-dimensional backlogs aka Story Boards. It's almost as good for team engagement as a…

Hi @Ahmud Auleear , Thanks for the response. I understand that managing change can be difficult. Can you confirm if the rollout of this change is paused whilst the implications are being assessed? We are rapidly approaching the "mid July" period and I need to plan workload as a result of this change. Can you elaborate on…

Give it a month to get used to, and provide feedback about what is not working for you. Over 20 years, I've used SaaS work management systems such as SharePoint with Power Automate, ServiceNow, IBM Rational suite, Remedy, Monday.com SalesForce etc, and I still prefer the Atlassian toolset, and a number of proprietary core…

Also, how does Atlassian measure the level of their customer's "change fatigue", prior to approving changes from the many different product owners? In my experience, sometimes users experience death by a thousand cuts where each change is OK in its isolation, but when looked at from further away it is one of a constant…

HI @Ahmud Auleear , we do not want plain text markup formatting. We need an option to have multi-line fields that hold plain text with no formatting. The default renderer is currently the only way to do this as far as I know. This is because as much as Atlassian would like it to, there are use cases where Jira is not the…

I honestly don't care how much re-work this is going to cost me in updating automations, filters, dashboards, and documentation if it means I don't need to explain the difference between Project and Project yet another time!

Yes, it is possible, but IMO messy. * Copy the URL for a whiteboard. * Click in the whitespace of the "parent" whiteboard, then paste the link. * You get an embedded whiteboard in a whiteboard. I've used this to "archive" done columns in our kanban board so the main board can be clean, but we still have a record of cards…

Nice, these are the same as the conventions that I've followed across the last 20 years I've been using the product. I would also suggest avoiding "past tense" status such as "Approved" and generic "In Progress" statuses. Instead, use a name that indicates what action is required to get your work item closer to "done".…

Well done! The whiteboards team is rocking it, as IMO, whiteboards are by far the most impactful new feature within the Atlassian ecosystem over the last 10 years. My new feature requests in order of priority: - Ensure that Whiteboards are included in the "copy to Sandbox" activity to support enterprise customers. - Ensure…

RE: "Hiding products or apps that they don't yet want users to stumble upon" Yes, this is a bit "on the nose" these days, but look at it from the bean counter viewpoint... Why would Atlassian want you to block your users from discovering new sources of revenue for them? I'm personally not happy with the new Nav and the…

Thanks for the heads up @Ahmud Auleear . I like the push to make the system consistent due to experiencing the bugs (e.g. an imported contract clauses reference such as "a :)" becomes a smiley face when rendered). Normally I would applaud this in the Software Development space where Jira instances are long lived. However,…

Hi @Pavel V , Atlassian's Change Management standards has seriously deteriorated if this is the only planned warning. If I'm reading this right, you're going to change configuration to automatically remove fields from field schemas, and you called out that this would impact APIs responses. and this will happen at some…
-
This is a welcome change for smaller or less mature organisations. Can you let us know what sort of warning we as Admins will get before fields are removed from a schema? Since the introduction of project admins being able to edit the fields they see via layouts, I've deliberately avoided having more than one field schema…

Or in PowerShell you can use something close the following... Disclaimer... this is un-tested, so it might need a few tweaks to get working, and add iteration through several projects. function Invoke-JiraRestAPIGet { param( [string]$URI, [string]$UserName, [string]$APIToken ) $pair = "$($UserName):$($APIToken)"…

I love this. You take this to next level (see what I did there) by dropping the Jira OOTB Scrum and Kanban boards and instead using Jira Whiteboards then adding add some D&D imagery to further highlight the theme. Whiteboards are a bit of a pain loading new cards onto the board every day, but it can be a useful trigger to…

As long as this ends up in Jira without us having to expose users to all the complexity of the Atlassian Home features (e.g. Projects, Goals), then I will be happy, however if Jira Dashboards are sacrificed to force users down the path of using the Atlassian Home, then I'm going to face some very unhappy users. At least…

Does Atlassian utilize a Correlation-ID in logs that is visible in a web request's response? I ask as I'd like to include it when reporting defects / bugs as it might aid your support teams in faster resolution. For others following along, a Correlation-ID is generated when a web-request is made to a server as a result of…
-
@Brett Uglow , I think you made a typo in your reply and mixed up qualitative and quantitative, compared to your initial response where it is correctly used. I found it interesting that Atlassian uses a home-grown solution, rather than off the shelf APM product like Dynatrace or NewRelic. Thanks for sharing that info.

The `section` tool is how you mark out sections, but they don't nest too well I've found. It's one of the 4 icons on the bottom of the tool bar. As a tip... the nice thing about sections is you can use the `copy link` feature on right click to embed only that section in a wiki page.
-
Hi @Brett Uglow , can you expand on what the qualitative feedback metrics are being captured and the technology used for measuring them? I am asking from an engineering perspective, around the data you provide to designers to support them in their decisions. For example, I wish I had a Tobii eye tracker to put in-front of…

I just checked and there currently isn't a feature request for this feature, so I suggest creating one from their support portal. If you want this, then report a "technical issue" and then ask the support person to create a feature request ticket, then post a link to the ticket so others can vote for it. You'll need to…

On the poor-quality TV's we have in meeting rooms, the washed-out colours just disappear. They need to have more saturation.

I'd also like to see some templates to support these popular 22 retrospectives. https://www.parabol.co/resources/sprint-retrospective-ideas/

Agreed, this adds an un-necessary cognitive load.

To counter some of the negative (and quite hostile rather than constructive comments here) I like the introduction of the new "Archive" feature. One of the things that "kept me up at night" was accidental or malicious deletion of issues/work items by users as there wasn't really any way to recover from it. To meet BCP and…

To extend on Item 1, a simple rule is to choose a status that intuitively communicates "what is required to get closer to done". With the exception of your last status, avoid past-tense words like "Tested" or "Reviewed" as they don't communicate what is needed next. Instead choose words like "Needs Review", "Needs…
