Hi @Müller_ Stephan You can certainly write a script to use the Organization APIs to add users to groups, or the older Jira APIs. Atlassian don't offer anything other than the APIs to make this easier or automated for you unfortunately. This is specifically why we built the Admin Automations app, to allow users to be…

It sounds like you need to give us more details as to how its setup, or contact Atlassian Support for more, private help :) You can add the confluence guest role to ANY group. If you have an AD group with the right users in it, just add the confluence guest role to that group?
-
Ok. Guard won’t let you sync users into the default confluence-guest group. If you want to do that, you’ll need an app like Admin Automations, or use the Org APIs to add users into default groups. Good luck! -Kieren Co-Fiunder @ Admin Automations | Ex-Atlassian
-
@Ante Bagić Are you using Atlassian Guard /SCIM to sync the users from AD to the Atlassian user directory?
-
Sorry, I assumed the users email domain was the same as yours. If the user is a part of another company, you’ll have to get that user to work out who their Org Admin is, to re-activate their account. The best bet is to start with emailing their IT team.
-
Hi @johannes tavarwisa This error only exists if the email you’re inviting already has an account associated with it and is currently deactivated. There are a few reasons this could have occurred without your user understanding that they used to have an account: 1. They could have used Trello with that email, and the…
-
@David Hart if you want to utilise the default Atlassian groups (e.g. add users to the confluence-users group via AD), then you might want to look at a marketplace app like Admin Automations. You mentioned not wanting to re-do your user directory, our automations allow you automatically add users to any group in your…

@Customer Service Atlassian billing is tied to products, not accounts. So if you closed your account, but not the product, then the product will still be active and billed for. I’m guessing there’s someone that is still using the Trello product? If so the easiest option is to contact an admin who still has access to the…

Some group searches can be very picky, did you search with the correct letter case? Eg capital vs lowercase Does the group name you created have any unusual/uncommon characters?
-
Hi @Lee Hutchinson There’s often a delay between creating a group and it syncing with the JSM backend. Shouldn’t be more than a few minutes at most. If you close/refresh the page, does the group show up? Can you see any other groups at all when you try to restrict to a group via the page @Rudy Holtkamp posted?
-
Hi @Aditya Srivastava Here are the instructions for how to add and remove org admin roles: https://support.atlassian.com/user-management/docs/give-users-admin-permissions/ You’ll need to grant the org admin role to a new user, then have that new user login and remove you as an org admin. From memory you can’t alter your…
-
Hi @Michael Peterson the Jira Admin role isn’t specific to JSM, it’s for all Jira products. 1. From admin.Atlassian.com 2. navigate to the user you want to make Product Admin 3. Add a product access to the user, and at the bottom of your product list, you’ll see Jira Administration. Select that “product” note that the user…

I think he’s after a product admin role, not a custom role
-
You could use the API @Raj.Shekhar, or use a Marketplace app like Admin Automations (assuming you also have Jira) to automate adding your users into groups, such as adding users to the default Bitbucket group…

@Julia Daehne it’s certainly different on this side! 😂 This is an exciting change, something customers have been asking for a long time. I’m glad it’s finally going to be delivered! Good luck with the rollout 👍
-
Big change @Julia Daehne ! Will this affect Product Admins ability to install apps? Do Marketplace app developers need to do anything to ensure their apps still function the same way?
-
Hi @Peter Schmitt There are two ways I’ve gone about this in the past: 1. Create a confluence page with a list of the users/emails/slack rooms related to each role. Eg you can list who the Jira Admins are. You could manually list and update each use, you could add them all to a special Jira Admin Team and just list the…

Hi @Vinh Renaming the site will be FAR easier than exporting/importing it. If you delete the DEF instance, it will take (from memory) 90 days before the name is available again. You can speed this up by contacting Atlassian Support, they do have the ability to free up the instance name sooner, I think they can cut it down…
-
Hi @peter.cardwell You'll need to raise a support ticket with Atlassian to sort this out. https://support.atlassian.com/contact/#/ Good luck! -Kieren Co-Founder @ Admin Automations | Ex-Atlassian
-
Hi @Benton Garrett I've seen a lot of these types of migrations. The best thing you can do is reach out to Atlassian Support and work with them to answer questions about your migration plan, related to your specific org/sites/products setup. Generally, my advice is: 1. Test this all out in a separate org and site if you…

Hey @Perry Tancredi I hope you found a solution, if you didn't: 1. There's no way within Atlassian administration or their products to allow you to sync users into the default groups via SCIM. The best you can do is write some scripts using their organization APIs to achieve this. 2. We built an app to specifically address…
-
An addendum to my answer above, in relation to @Ollie Guan's answer If the org-admins or site-admins group does not have the JSM Agent role on it (as I assumed it did in my answer), then Ollie's answer will work. If my assumption above is correct however, then the agent role will just be reapplied to the user when you add…
-
Hey @Richard Blundell There are two roles at play in your question: 1. The JSM Agent role 2. The Org Admin role Both roles are applied via one or more groups. The JSM Agent role has a default group, probably called something like jira-servicemanagement-users-nameofyoursite. The Org Admin role will have a default group…
-
In addition to what @Richard White _TechTime_ has said; the most likely reason you’re not on the new user management experience is you have multiple sites in your organization and you either have SCIM and/or use some group features in Jira that aren’t supported by group rename. Richard makes a good point about the…

Great answer @Darryl Lee. I feel like this could be a whole article. I started writing an article on our website about different types of security setups within Atlassian products, from our last community thread. It can get very complex... @matthew_hickman - I'd also add that more info on your current Server/DC security…
-
@Darryl Lee That's awesome, I didn't know about the Send web request action! I might look into incorporating that input into our app. @Kelvin Chua * The Admin Automation app doesn't accept inputs from other systems, and the rules are general and fixed (i.e. they're not dynamic or able to be changed based on different…
-
Hi kc I’m not aware of any JIT features in admin.atlassian.com that allow you to automatically control admin access. But given that the organization admin permission is granted by adding users from the site-admin or org-admin group, you could use a script to call the organization APIs and add/remove users to those groups.…

I'm pro Atlassian Marketplace, and not just because we've built an app for it... The Atlassian Marketplace is good for a few reasons: * Atlassian don't have the resources to build everything that customers want, and some things that customers want are very specific to them or their areas of business. The marketplace can…
-
@bhumika.ray FYI, we launched our Admin Automation App on the Atlassian Marketplace, which allows you to do bulk actions such as in option 2. Hope it all worked out for you -Kieren Co-Founder @ Smol Software | Ex-Atlassian
