@John Funk - funny, when I first read this article title, I thought you were referring to read-only fields. Would be awesome to be able to natively be able to lock down the ability to change field values... I wonder what the JAC ticket is for that. @Bill Sheboy - would love to prevent admins (even myself) from creating…

Thanks for sharing @Diego Mateo Hernandez ! I first came across Crmble for Trello years ago - it’s been on my list to trial it for Jira Cloud. 🍪

Thanks for putting this together! I now want to test what happens in various SaaS tools in this particular scenario…
-
*sighs* Why are the related issues marked as Closed? Is it time we make new issues, and link them all together?

1. A recent favorite TV show I just finished watching? Invincible, based on the comic series. 👊 2. 🏆 One Confluence Premium feature I'd nominate for "Best Documentary Feature"? Whiteboards. Last month Whiteboards received native voting features, which should come in handy during retrospectives, or if you've got a Lean…

@Susan Waldrip - you reminded me to prioritize a trip to Iceland in 2025! 🙌 ASL is fun, two of my favorite words are "popcorn" and "penguin". And it's tough to get those words confused. 😆🍿🐧
-
@Amanda Barber - congrats!! Just two days away from a year... I think a celebration is warranted? 🗓️🚀 It's so interesting the parts of our brain that we need to process visuals and audio. Random fact: I can read Cyrillic, which only comes in handy when I'm in a restaurant with menus printed in that script. Of course,…

Don't thank me, thank @Andy Gladstone for encouraging us all to post a Miscellaneous Monday! 😉 If you're using an Atlassian tool that has a language - even a query language - it's pretty nifty to know that language somewhat deeper. For me, I want to know JQL well enough where I get the operators right on date ranges. 🥲

Join up! I've met quite a few Atlassian Community folks on Duolingo - as many as I've met on Pokemon Go[1]. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 [1] Bahaha - https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Watercooler-discussions/Friday-Fun-any-Pok%C3%A9mon-Go-players-out-there/td-p/1624491

I sympathize! At least you'll be able to read signs... Duolingo is not impressed with my "Spanish" accent. It's not lispy enough to be from Barcelona, and it's too French to be anything you'd hear in South America. 🤣
-
@Teodora V _Warsaw Dynamics_ - ¡Impresionante! I think. I might be following one of your coworkers on Duolingo... 🤘🏻🚀🍻

⚔️ Sad I can't find a video, but I did find a photo of Stephen Fry as a Klingon: https://www.stephenfry.com/2011/02/4d6ae04f2b734/ I also found this, and love it: https://www.shakespeare.org.uk/explore-shakespeare/blogs/shakespeare-klingon/

@John Funk - Ooh! I've got a French friend who's living where you are. I never asked if there were other Frenchies in the region, is that a thing?
-
@Barbara Szczesniak - oh jeez, I forgot I did a semester of Latin... all I remember is salvete ! 👋

🙌🎉🎷 Your response reminds me of this Graham Norton Show clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UztioBpKlRk

@Mike - Dreamsuite Consulting - necroposting isn't a thing if the post is a Miscellaneous Monday post, right? 👀 * What language(s) can you speak and how well?* English (not that great) * French (depends on the amount of wine I've had) * Khmer (horribly, a super distant third language) * What language do you wish you could…

@Andy Gladstone - ✅ I just posted my Miscellaneous Monday! An owl encouraged me to do it...
-
@Teodora V _Warsaw Dynamics_ 🗂️ So glad Confluence (Cloud) Folders are a thing now. You just reminded me to tell my users about them... 🥲
-
The new voting feature will help during retrospective sessions!

Yes to UX improvements, especially speed! ⚡️

Happy to see improvements being made to the Company hub - audience segmentation FTW! 🗓️ If the concept of audience segmentation could be extended to calendar events, that'd be amazing. Certain events you want everyone to know about, but others might be intended a specific office, division, team, or geo-location...
-
@Tinker Fadoua - thanks for this article! I recommend sub-tasks[1] to teams so they can get into the habit of actually breaking down their stories. Love the added benefit of making it easier for stakeholders to see a story's status! [1] or checklists, if they're using a Jira checklists add-on...

I was at a Jira admin roundtable recently, and one of the admins mentioned they used Assets as a data integration layer. They regularly pulled in data from their CRM into Assets, and could use that data in JSM requests. I'm interested in this, especially in cases where licenses for a company's CRM are expensive/limited.

Made it to a few Braindates this past Team, and learned a lot - I appreciate that Braindate offers a framework for meeting folks at a conference in a non-salesy way. 🙌
-
@Molly Ellis - definitely post this to Jobs & Careers on Community!
-
... November 4th is around the corner, and I haven't watched a single LotR clip! On the bright side, I've got my voting plan for November 5th. 😬
-
@Hadi Abou Hamzeh - If you haven’t yet, consider posting to the Atlassian Developer Community: https://community.developer.atlassian.com There are developers here, but you’ll probably get a faster response on that forum. Good luck!
-
Welcome @Tomislav Tobijas - we work in an interesting problem space, right? Scaling tool usage for a large population is always a challenge. Coupled with that, what is the organizational maturity of the company and its teams? Hmm, this would be an interesting article to write on Enterprise... 🤔 Looking forward to learning…

lack of parity between Cloud and Server Try out Priority Schemes in Jira Cloud? I was involved in the early review of the feature (the EAP) and it felt like a bolt-on "solution". I have faith that certain features will reach parity between Cloud and Data Center - while we have Data Center - in both directions. There are…
