Hi @Niall McPherson, We use Structure to implement a deeper issue hierarchy without Jira Premium. Our hierarchy looks like this: Features -> Goals -> Epics -> Stories We use a custom issue link type we call "contains <-> belongs to" (the parent issue "contains" the child issue, the child issue "belongs to" the parent…

It would be very helpful to split the automation page into two panes which scroll independently: * The left pane (triggers, conditions, and actions) should scroll independently so that you could scroll up and down to the trigger/condition/action you're interested in, and see the details of that trigger/condition/action in…

Hi @Cluny McCullagh sure, count me in!

As @Curt Holley says, I wouldn't create too many sprints ahead of time. The problem I foresee if you do create 52 sprints at once is that then they'll be in the way when you're trying to manage your backlog. Also, and obviously YMMV on this point, but slotting things into sprints more than 3 or 4 sprints out seems like it…

@Joseph Chung Yin @Mindy Tran I would say "Fortunately it is not possible ..." :-)
-
Aha! Thanks @Jack Brickey, that was the clue I was struggling to find!
-
We've found another approach to solving this problem in our installation: the Smart Checklist app. There are two variants: * Smart Checklist for Jira - Pro * Smart Checklist for Jira - Free * Free vs Pro Plans Comparison This supports checklists within an issue, which is a bit lighter-weight than sub-tasks, but which…

Another reason we get much more value out of a custom Select List field than we get from the Teams field is that we can write JQL like this: "Agile Team" = A-Team If you try this with the Team field: Team = A-Team You get no hits!!!!! This is a very misleading result. In order to get this to work at all, you have to crawl…

We're a much smaller shop, but we ran into arbitrary limitations like you can't specify which Team a sub-task should be associated with, and the confusion around "Team" vs "Advanced Roadmaps Team", and eventually just reverted to Jira Groups and a custom field we call Agile Team, which at least works for us. We sync our…

Thanks @Simon Kliewer !

@Andrew Tyson At least if it would default to displaying the first tab, I could rearrange my workbook to suit. I haven’t figured out how it chooses which tab to display, and I can’t afford to waste any more time on it. 🙄
-
Hi @Simon Kliewer, the Smart Link function almost works for SharePoint Excel files, except that it makes a bizarre choice of which tab to display - any chance that can be fixed? If it defaulted to the first tab, that would be a great improvement over the current behaviour. Thanks!

As an aside, if you make * White Co * Black Ltd. * Red Company values in the component field, then you can make Mr. Burak the Component Lead for White Co., Mr. Yusuf the Component Lead for Black Ltd., and make the Component Lead the Default Assignee for those components.
-
Thanks @Shalu Pandey I was able to find that page with the help of the Support team. Unfortunately, the "Display embed" is exceptionally well hidden, and if you do succeed in finding it, the imbed makes bizarre choices of what tabs/cells of the spreadsheet to display. It's effectively unusable for us, unless the support…
-
Hi @Shalu Pandey That sounds interesting. How do you do that? Does it require a 3rd-party app? I haven't found anything that looks related in the Confluence Cloud Docs except this, which is for the old editor. Thanks, Kel

We are working through something similar, and the advice from @Sergei Gridnevskii and @Joseph Chung Yin is right on. A couple of additional points: * re Sergei’s #2 - we solved that problem by doing an import of all the Epics first. Then we added the Keys of the Epics in the Epic Link column in a second import file for all…

This looks interesting. Is there a way to embed an Excel file from SharePoint, instead of attaching it? Thanks, Late update - 2025-08-18 - this works! * Paste the link to the spreadsheet into the Confluence page. * Click on the link to open the link panel * Click on the pulldown beside URL to expand the pulldown - switch…

@Remy Cox Thanks for the pointer to ActivityTimeline, it looks very capable.

I'm not a ScriptRunner poweruser by any stretch, but we regarded ScriptRunner as a requirement on Server. When we migrated to Cloud, we found that several of the Scriptrunner capabilities we relied on on Server were not available on cloud. We've been on Cloud for 15 months now and haven't missed ScriptRunner so far. Usual…

* Structure for Jira (ALM Works) - I wouldn't try to run Jira without it. The ability to build flexible, extended hierarchies of tickets with a few lines of well-placed JQL is unmatched in my experience. * Smart Checklist for Jira. Pro - Very handy for a lighter-weight alternative to sub-tasks which can be used at any…

Hi Jason, sorry I'm late to the party. You could do that by setting up subscriptions to filters: * https://www.atlassian.com/blog/jira-software/jql-the-most-flexible-way-to-search-jira-3-of-4 * https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/work-with-search-results/#subscribe HTH, Kel

Also, with Bill's help, I have a working example posted below.

Hi @Vin Nguyen , I'm using multiple "And: Create versions" to create new versions in multiple projects. There may be a better way, and I'm certainly open to suggestion. Hope this helps! Kel

Thanks @Jack Brickey !

Thanks Huy.

@Dan Dodson Sadly my "answer" is +1. Almost 2 years later, same problem. I'm opening a ticket, will let you know the outcome.

Hi Karri, here's what's working for me on Jira Cloud:

Hi @Ramiro Justet Structure for Jira, from ALM Works, handles rollups for Original and Remaining Estimates very well. ALM Works was recently acquired by Tempo, so it will be interesting to see how they integrate in the future.
