Dear @sreenivasulu vadde , when your attachments are located in the file system (and not inside DB), you can create the XML backup file without attachments. On restore, the attachments are already at the right place. Please follow Method Two in the official instructions for the details. So long Thomas
-
Dear @atalwar , what you observed is "by design". All attachments are stored as 'content' of one page. The overview is the 'tab' you describe. When you like to make the attachment appear on the page, you need to reference it in the body of your page. I recommend to get one page with attachments, to have an example how…

Dear @Bastian Stehmann , you were 7 days to early. 8.20 is out since 18th October. So long Thomas

Dear @SDKDude1234 , behind the SDK scripts is maven. You can start with searching the configuration files and uncomment the start command. So long Thomas
-
Dear @suedti1 , you can write your request recursively - its a tree. Start with the first top level page an get all its children pages: GET /rest/api/content/{topLevelPageId}/child/page now you have all the children ids for getting the whole page in details: GET /rest/api/content/{childId} for each child you repeat these…

Dear @A_Lakshmi Durga , how to do a transition by REST is very well described. Make sure, that in the transition screen, you are allowed to set the status (and the resolution). For firing a "Resolved Event" you need to configure this in the workflow of that issue. So long Thomas

Dear @Johan Hallin <jira url>/rest/api/2/filter/?jql=project%20%3D%20SWE" This looks more like a GET filter then a POST for creating one. It just simple. You need to perform a POST to <jira url>/rest/api/2/filter with following JSON payload: { "name": "My API created filter", "description": "some more details", "jql":…

Dear @sirisha krishna , welcome to the community. I assume you are using server not cloud, because you didn't specify. I recommend running first REST call to get an existing comment with a table: GET /rest/issue/{issueIdOrKey}/comment/{id} In the answer take the value of "body" and have a look how formatting is done. Then…

Dear @Bhupesh Nagda , when you save the 'data' directory on windows, you have all attachments. Don't think too much on DB migration - Jira does this for you. All you need is the XML dump (Backup) Jira produces. This can be taken to restore the data to any supported database type. You do not need to go over Windows on AWS.…

Dear @Woodson Miles , welcome to the community. The endpoint GET /rest/api/content/{d}/copy does not exist in the rest api reference. That's why it doesn't work. You are referencing to the CLOUD Api. Server is different. To do what you want, you need to call first GET /rest/api/content/{id} read the page body, modify and…

Dear @Diwakar.Sharma , welcome to the community! I recommend to fire your request from PostMan and SAP to a Debugging Web Proxy (eg. Whistle , there are other HTTP Traffic/Capture solutions, too) Then you can easy compare the different requests. If you know Linux, you can do the same with tcpdump. Or with UI: Wireshark.…

Dear @Wilhelm , welcome to the community. I recommend to debug the sent/received data from Power Scripts to Jira. Means, try to output the HTTP request, its HTTP_CODE and JSON response to know more about this. Then, copy&paste this information into a REST client / REST browser (Postman or cURL) and execute. Compare the…

Dear @Daniele Tomelleri welcome to the community. I totally agree to @Brant Schroeder answer. REST is extremely useful for such kind of things. Just follow my search to find more links. So long Thomas

I can't really help. Can you please provide more details. With which custom field type did this happen? Have you tried to reproduce with a new custom field (create, then alter the description)? You tagged your question with "server" and "jira-software-server". Which version do you use?
-
Is it like that: * you alter the description of a custom field and save it * the new description is correctly displayed at the custom field edit page * the new description does not show upon an issue If this is the case, please run the re-indexer.
-
I can't see any error messages (pictures are low detail level). How do you notice, that the description does not change?
-
Great! Please write an article afterwards, to share your xp and link it with this question.
-
Dear @Harendra Chhekur , this is a bit tricky - because there is no single REST function to do. * Get one project and read its issue types * for each issue type call Get create issue metadata limited to one project to get all fields of the create screens * fetch one existing issue of that issue type and perform a Get edit…

Dear @Arjay Villavicencio , all you need is to read my article ;) So long Thomas

Dear @L Chaptal , I would like to help you troubleshooting. Can you please provide more information in form of log file messages or screen shots? Thanks Thomas
-
Dear @Rob Horan , the reason for that there is no 'official' documentation is the risk that you break your system or it get's unstable when the modifications of the XML are not successful. Therefore it is very important to perform a dry-run before doing this for a production environment. To better understand the XML file…

Dear @Martin , if Rapid 7 can talk 'REST', you can pull this information form the audit log endpoint. Then alerting is a piece of cake. So long Thomas

Dear @Dave Kleihorst , the explanation for this behavior can be found in JSDSERVER-8681. Hold on, they will release it soon! So long Thomas
-
Dear @Serphentos , welcome to the community! In your first call, you did not set the custom headers Accept: application/json Content-Type: application/json Sometimes when you get a XSRF check failed you need to set the User-Agent: x header, too. HTTP_CODE 415 is in most cases an indicator for missing header information. So…

Dear @Arthur S , welcome to the community! It is possible with the REST APIs of Jira and Confluence Get the projects from Jira GET /api/2/project?expand=lead You can extract the details from the JSON response. Update a confluence page PUT /rest/api/content/{id} JSON Payload: { "version": { "number": 2 }, "title": "My new…
-
Dear @Shlok Ulva , have you tried "project": { "id": "12345" }, instead, already? Have a closer look at the reference for details. So long Thomas
-
Better, before the entire replace, check manually a couple of XML elements that references the 'username' and not the ID. Then you are save. In Jira's XML backup file the 'username' is used in other places. Eg. for the entity "project" and its property "lead", there you will find the 'username' and not it's id.

The following worked for me: project = TSK AND ("MES Activity" is empty or "MES Activity" not in ("Plant Scaling")) and the opposite project = TSK AND "MES Activity" in ("Plant Scaling") I had to re-index to get work, after I introduced the new custom field. In your upper JQLs you also specify issue types. Make sure that…
-
Dear @Rob Horan , yes, you can do - you need to replace the old username in some other places. Be aware not to change the emailAddress. I have done this in the past for a larger project where 2 Jira instances got merged. Beside usernames, I also had to change issue types, statuses, custom fields, resolutions and link…

Dear @Zack Mosbrucker , welcome to the community! What custom field type is "MES Activity"? So long Thomas
