@DI IELSI Carol You can edit permissions for the project in Jira. Just remove users from the Edit Issues permission.

@Z-EL The answer to your question is yes. I would recommend starting here https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirasoftwareserver/workflows-939938674.html

@Rebecca M. Project admins would follow tips for configuring a screen. Basically, a modified portion of this https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/defining-a-screen-938847288.html#Definingascreen-Configuringascreen'stabsandfields They would be confined to only a screen in their project that lies within these…

Thanks for the very helpful tips @Daniel Eads {unmonitored account}! There were quite a few remnants lingering in my Jira instance.
-
@Maria Engel I get the same behavior on Jira Server v7.8.1. I do not experience this issue in Jira Server v7.8.2. Have you updated to the latest?
-
@Joe Did you have a chance to install and test the Jira Road Map gadget? It only shows projects that have not been released and it has a progress bar showing issues completed against total target issues for the release. JQL is going to filter by issue, so if you do filter for something like fixVersion not in…
-
@Stu were you able to get Priority cleared from your cards?
-
@Alex Leoveanu did that JQL filter accomplish what you wanted?
-
@Mohammad Tfaily were you able to get the "Linked Issue" field to appear?
-
@Chris DeAntonio Adding those additional statuses can affect your sprint reporting. In my experience, if an issue isn't in a Done type status then you only have the option of moving it to the next sprint or backlog when you complete the current sprint. Also, adding statuses into you sprint board will delay closing the…
-
@curt klyn You can set a validator on the "Create" transition in your workflow to allow only a user(s) with a particular permission to create an issue. You will not be able to specify a particular role, group, or user since the "Create" transition doesn't offer conditions. If you did want to use a validator to specify a…

@Andrew Beard I think what you are saying is that you have a status "Icebox" that doesn't appear on your sprint board and issues in the icebox status are designated for the current sprint. If that is the case then you can still use the instructions that I mentioned and those issues will remain in the icebox status and will…
-
@Andrew Beard If you create the second sprint prior to closing the first sprint, you will be prompted with the option to move all unresolved issues to the next sprint or to the backlog upon ending the first sprint.

Kudos to all of you inspiring contributors!

Portfolio for Jira appears to do exactly what you are describing. https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/portfolio

@Lindsay Czopur I think this task is beyond the scope of JQL. Unfortunately, there is no JQL for "current assignee". JQL also doesn't support historical searches for certain user fields. If you typically have service desk agents passing issues back and forth you could work that into your workflow. One option would be to…

@Joe have you considered adding the Jira Road Map gadget to your System Dashboard? I think it would accomplish what you are setting out to do. Just go to JIra Administration, choose System, select System Dashboard, click Add Gadget, and choose Jira Road Map.
-
@Lindsay Czopur Give this a try... assignee is not EMPTY AND NOT assignee changed BEFORE now()
-
@Stu Summary will always be at the top of a card, but you should be able to remove Priority from "Card Layout". @Anup Issue Detail View only pertains to the detail view which appears to the right of all columns on a board when you select one of the cards.

@Júlia Paschoal Borges * Go to Jira Administration * Select Issues * Click on workflows * Click Edit for the desired workflow * In Diagram view click on the "Closed" status and you should get a little popup window * In the popup window, click on properties and you should see a screen with 2 fields * Enter…

@Gordon Clark you might be interested in using Automation for Jira which will allow you to assign users in a group using a "round robin" method. That would allow you to auto assign to the group and evenly spread the work around.

Happy Anniversary, Atlassian Community! I hope to be able to give back as much as I have received from this fine group of folks.

@user22 if this answer resolved your issue, please click accept. Thanks!

@Daniel Seegräber there doesn't appear to be a built in keyboard shortcut to insert instructional text when creating a Confluence template, but you can create your own by following this tutorial.
-
@Alex Leoveanu To declare that a status was not changed by someone on your team you could use NOT status changed BY membersOf("My team") So, if you were looking for issues where the status was changed by anyone not on your QA team prior to the end of last week you could use status changed BEFORE endOfWeek('-1') AND NOT…

When you link issues to each other both will have a link to its new counterpart under a field titled "Linked Issues". If you do not see that field then you will need to add it to the desired screen. Go to the Administration page, select Issues>Field Configurations and locate Linked Issues. If your desired Screen is not…

Under Administration>Issues select "Issue Type Screen Schemes" and find the scheme associated with the project you are working in then click on configure. Does the Issue type Story have the same Screen Scheme as Epic? If so, then you should be able to just edit the issue type field in the issue (assuming you have…

I would be interested in an updated Dragon Slayer challenge. Our server admin has his green Dragon Slayer t-shirt and I would like the opportunity to get my own, but I am not interested in working with outdated versions of software.

SynapeRT is what we built our repository using. It has tons of great features. You build your Test Suites with Test Cases then create Test Plans where you can run as many Test Cycles as necessary. Each cycle lets the user make notes. Also, the app has it's own Clone capability which makes cloning and editing a breeze.

@Gary Barg Thank you for reaching out to me. My company has several established products so we primarily use Jira for product maintenance. We occasionally add features, but primarily we work on improvements and bug fixes. Also, within our company the requirement for Jira was pretty simple and straightforward when we began…
