Hi @Charlene Freeman Welcome to the community! If you haven't already, check out Roadmaps and Advanced Roadmaps as it introduced some cool planning features that weren't in Jira out of the box. Jacob
-
Hi @Angelina Buhr Are you using the 'End Date' field or the 'Due Date' field? They're two separate fields which is why you might not be seeing the 'Due Date' field populated if you're only populating the 'End Date' field. Hope this helps. Jacob

Hi @Matt Wilkie This is a good question and having given it some thought, I'm wondering if your organization has Advanced Roadmaps available to use? The reason why I ask is that Advanced Roadmaps introduces a level in hierarchy higher than Epic, which would be the initiative. You could potentially have the initiative be…

Hi @Dean Langford Do you have the ability to use Advanced Roadmaps? This is available on Jira Software Premium and would be able to help you out. You'd be able to do sprint planning, resource planning and assign tasks to the various teams in Advanced Roadmaps. Super useful for what you'd need to do. Hope that helps. Jacob
-
Hi @Tobias Hinterseer Are you interested in working with a consulting firm to provide these services instead of hiring a full-time employee? Jacob
-
Hi @Diane Mastramico That's the idea, yup. It'll also move upstream meaning that your epic would update as well with a new adjusted end date potentially. Jacob
-
Hi @Diane Mastramico To clarify, you'll need to manually add the dependencies using the 'link issues' feature and then the roll-up feature will help make it so that if one task gets adjusted, it adjusts everything. Hope that helps. Jacob
-
Hi @Diane Mastramico You'll need to enable the 'roll-up' feature which means that dates roll up to the epic for a task. You'll have to manually create dependencies which means using the 'Link issue' feature for Roadmaps. Hope this helps. Jacob
-
Hi @Rosie That happens to me often too, not sure why but it'll still work if you type the issue name in and then hit okay. Jacob
-
Hi @Олег I can't read what the error is but checking to see if you have the right permissions to edit epics in that project? Jacob
-
Hi @Catalina Martinez S Is Approved / Decline a status/stage in your workflow? If so, you can search for Status or StatusCategory in JQL. Jacob
-
Hi @Daria Prytchyna There's an option in tickets to 'Link Issue'. Click that and type in the issue names that you want to link, it should work to link epics and themes from different projects. Jacob
-
Hi @Rosie You should be able to. If you know the issue name, you should be able to type it in and hit 'ok'. Even if it doesn't show up on a drop down list it'll still be added. Jacob
-
Hi @Philipp Donth No worries - Atlassian offers free basic access to their software so you could create a Jira Service Management instance, play around in it and then make a final decision on if it fits your needs. Would highly recommend you do that before committing fully. Jacob
-
Hi @haddad cheikh Are you using the roadmap feature on a board or Advanced Roadmaps to create a roadmap of epics? Jacob
-
Hi @clcali Have you tried: "watcher = <username>" with username being the user you're searching for? Jacob
-
Hi @Jonathon Mavin I think it's a good move to go from Zendesk to JSM if you're already in the Atlassian ecosystem. Makes it easier to manage the environments admin-wise instead of (potentially) needing a Jira admin and then a Zendesk admin as well. Have moved from Zendesk to JSM and it just works easier for us as we were…

Hi @ratan.sharmacharya I don't mind having a discussion with you and providing advice. Shoot me an email at jacob@northtekconsulting.com as it'll be easier to go through some of this via email than on the forum. Jacob
-
Hi @ratan.sharmacharya Are you looking to track changes and have a change control process? If so, I've done this before. Jacob
-
Hi @James Skinner Answers below to your questions: * This is possible via automation / rules * You can have a different 'agent view' depending on request types so emailed requests can be different than a ticket request submitted from your portal * Can you clarify what you mean here? Depending on what you click, different…

Hi @marco g Ravi has a good solution below but to answer your question - your client would need to have permission to the other project so you are correct. Jacob
-
Hi @Phil Muldoon Would your client be interested in working with a consulting firm to help with this? Jacob
-
Hi @marco g Are you looking to move the ticket from one project to another project? This is something the 'move' feature can do. It'll allow you to move it from one group to another but it won't auto-assign the ticket, you'd need to manually do that. Hope that helps. Jacob
-
Hi @Philipp Donth This is doable in both Jira and Jira Service Management but I'd suggest using Jira Service Management as it's more of a ticketing system. You'd be able to send in tickets to your team and create custom workflows, automation, etc. to do what you've laid out as a process. Let me know if you need some help…
-
Hi @Pilar Lopez Gracia What about their data policy doesn't allow them to use Jira Cloud? Is it a data residency issue? It looks like Jira Cloud is coming out with a data residency option but your client can also look into Jira Data Centre instead as well. Let me know if you need expert help with your client as this is…

Hi @Stamatis N_ Astra If you're using the built-in Roadmaps functionality for Kanban boards, you'll want to enable them in the board settings. If you're looking to create roadmaps at a project level or non-board level, you'll need to have premium level licenses to enable Advanced Roadmaps. Hope that helps. Jacob
-
Hi @Jim Stover Roadmaps are board specific which means that each board will have its own roadmap for its issues. If you're looking to create a roadmap for more than one board or for more strategic planning, you'd want to use Advanced Roadmaps. Hope that helps. Jacob
-
@Marilyn Bond Sounds good, sent you an email!
-
Hi @Jimmy Trivedi Another suggestion would be the ability to put it back into 'To Do' so that tasks/work can go back into the backlog aside from having it be 'pending'. Jacob
-
Hi @Adrienne Aiken Are you trying to make it so that all your PMs have the ability to move epics, stories, etc. from one column to another? Jacob
