Hi @Chris Steenwyk Have you created teams in Advanced Roadmaps? You could create teams that are the same in Jira and then assign them work in Advanced Roadmaps. This would be able to show you each sprint that a team is working on and could help with the burndown chart. Jacob

Hi @John Hyde Is Action items an issue type that you have in your Jira instance? You could use a JQL filter, for example (somewhat pseudo JQL): 'issue type = action item' AND assignee is EMPTY Hope that helps. Jacob

Hi @Marilyn Bond This is something that I at the organization I work at and something that we offer as a service for clients. We use Advanced Roadmaps to plan out strategic work and so we know what's coming up and can show clients what's coming up for us in terms of development. Feel free to respond to this with your…

Hi @Nadine Esser You can set this as a project rule but this would mean that it would happen for all stories in that project. Go to project settings -> automation and then you can create automation so that when your story is set to closed, then your sub-tasks (in issue) will close. Hope this helps. Jacob
-
Hi @Armi Lawrence The only other issue type that you could have is an initiative. The only way that I think you'd be able to create hierarchies above Initiative would be to create separate projects. Hope that helps. Jacob

Hi @Fred When you save your view under "save as", there's an option to make it default for everyone. Is that something you've tried to do? That might help so that when users click into a plan or have a link that it's defaulted to the view you saved. Jacob @ NorthTEK Consulting

Hi @amy.richards Is your staff adding hours in each task? If so, you could use the "resources" tab in BigPicture and see if that displays what you need it to display. Hope that helps. Jacob @ NorthTEK Consulting
-
Hi @meryl.krich Are you using the "Board Settings" to make changes to your board? If so, this would allow you to change things for the one specific board only. Hope this helps. Jacob @ NorthTEK Consulting
-
Hi @Jennifer Howard What issue source are you using to create your Kanban board? Is it based on a filter or on a project? This will help determine what the issue is and what can be done to help get the sub-tasks showing. Jacob @ NorthTEK Consulting
-
Hi @Zaldy Parian I see what you mean now - the only thing I can think of is to create wallboards and configure them so that you can present the wallboard and transition through the different dashboards like a slideshow. This would be similar to tabbing through dashboards. I haven't seen anything out of the box that would…

Hi @John Hyde Are you looking to just see all issue types that haven't been assigned? You could use a JQL filter (project = x and assignee is EMPTY) and populate all issues in a project where the assignee is empty. Hope this helps. Jacob @ NorthTEK Consulting
-
Hi @Zaldy Parian Is there a reason why you're not creating dashboards for each use case? Might be easier for users to find the dashboard that works for them instead of having to go to the right page / tab which is essentially the same. Jacob @ NorthTEK Consulting

Hi @Jonas Tidström Are you using Jira Advanced Roadmaps? In Advanced Roadmaps, you're able to select a customized date range for your schedules and I can go back and forward as many years as I'd like. It's in the date range section (3M, 1Y, Fit, Custom). Hope this helps. Jacob @ NorthTEK Consulting
-
Hi @Jessica Santacruz Are you trying to add your team members to a template in Confluence?
-
Hi @Mélanie Liguet If you're looking to adjust capacity sprints for teams, you'd have to click the Teams tab and click the edit button under each team's arrows. If you want capacity per person, the only way I can think of it right now is to create it per person like you mentioned. Hope this helps. Jacob @ NorthTEK…

Hi @Daniel Cavenagh Ollie provided some good links but to add on to that, it's not currently possible to view the roadmap without a Jira license. You could export the plan as a csv file and then clean it up and send it to a stakeholder but you wouldn't have the map view, only data. Hope that helps. Jacob @ NorthTEK…
-
Hi @Aaron Geister Your only option for exporting is to export as a .csv but it doesn't export cleanly and it won't show a view of the map. The only way to get a view of the map plus data is to take screenshots unfortunately. Hope that helps. Jacob @ NorthTEK Consulting
-
Hi @graemejohnson From what I can tell having used Advanced Roadmaps, it doesn't look like there's a feature where you can export into a .pdf that's easy for a stakeholder to consume. I think you have two options in terms of "exporting" the Plan: * Export as a .csv and then open it up in Excel but you'd have to clean up…
-
Hi @Anupama Gobalan What are you trying to use Advanced Roadmaps for? Are you trying to better understand and be able to show in a schedule/roadmap form the work that needs to be done by your team? You can create a Plan per team and then create an overarching program in Advanced Roadmaps without needing to use the…
-
Hi @Sue Hannan I think you'd have to create each sub-team in Advanced Roadmaps so that you could filter by sub-team. Hope that helps. Jacob @ NorthTEK Consulting
-
Hi @Ron Caylor I'd remove the Kanban board as an issue source and modify your filter to include for the initiative and to check if the issue in the Kanban board that the plan is specifically for. This would reduce the need to have two issue sources and would prevent projects and issues from showing up on a Plan that you…

Hi @Mathieu Canourgues If you're trying to create something like a Gantt chart or schedule, you'd need to use a tool like JIRA Advanced Roadmaps or BigPicture. I don't think there's a way to visualize dates like in a Gantt chart using native JIRA software. Jacob @ NorthTEK Consulting
-
Hi @stacey.christensen I currently use Advanced Roadmaps for project management for both waterfall / agile. I also offer consulting services to help organizations implement project management best practices when it comes to JIRA and Advanced Roadmaps. Let me know if you'd want to have a chat. Jacob @ NorthTEK Consulting
-
Hi @Marcela The first question you should answer when you're creating plans and programs is what do you want to use it for? By that, I mean what are you trying to do with it? Are you looking to have project schedules? Create roadmaps for various departments and teams? Create roadmaps for products to show stakeholders? This…
-
Hi @Glen Thompson You could use the 'Updated' field which would show you when the ticket was last updated. So any changes made to the ticket (including comments), etc. would update the field. You could then use a JQL filter to search for last updated within a certain time frame and that would pull everything up. Hope that…
-
Hi @Kelly Kavvada What issue type are in your plans? It looks like you have your schedule set to 'Tasks' but if you only have epics / stories in your plans, you'd have to change your schedule to set to Epics or stories. We have a blog post that can help you figure this stuff out. Hope that helps. Jacob @ NorthTEK…
-
Hi @Anton Doberschuetz There's multiple ways in which you can organize the way to manage products, projects and programs. Here are a couple ideas: * Using Jira Software - you can create an Initiatives type to group Epics together, with each Epic being a project and having stories be what you are currently using as Epics.…

Hi @Sunita Mathew No worries. Do keep in mind that if you were to move forward with Advanced Roadmaps, it would take some work to get everything set up. One downside of using Advanced Roadmaps is that although you can pull data from Jira Software, you'll need to configure and set up your Roadmaps if you haven't set up your…

Good catch @Dave Rosenlund _Trundl_ . Wasn't sure what JIRA service Nate was using.
-
Hi @Nate There's definitely a lot to think about when it comes to using JIRA and how it fits into the work that you're doing. JIRA is very customizable, which is why we preach start small, finish big. When I'm setting up a JIRA project or Advanced Roadmaps, I'm thinking about what it is that I'm trying to achieve with…
