The only easy way to backup issues and attached files is to use Jira's backup feature (XML format) which also backup JIRA_HOME directory. An alternative for easy recovery would be to backup the virtual machine and its DB system where Jira is currently running and restore the VM image later on.

Great! Glad you found it out! You should write your question as answered to help people inthe same situation heading to your answer :) Have a great day and good luck for your plugin!

Great, good luck! If it suits you, please mark this as answered :)

Hi, You can add a snippet of Javascript in your announcement banner. In my case I've used: AJS.$('#allCsvFields').parent().remove(); Please note that the selector might need to be tweaked depending on your Jira version as the DOM elements are changed over versions. Please let me know if it worked for you!

Hi Martin, ComponentAccessor is mainly a static accessor which means you can import its package and simply use it like: ProjectManager pm = ComponentAccessor.getProjectManager(); I guess you can therefore use: EpicLinkManager elm = ComponetAccessor.getComponentOfType(EpicLinkManager.class); Hope this helps!

Hi, You might want to check a plugin to achieve that behaviour as editing native templates is touchy. From past experience, I'd recommend https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.riadalabs.jira.plugins.notificationassistant/server/overview which is efficient and scalable for many usages. Such a plugin can base rules…

Hi Jamie, If you expect Jira's notifications to display the field, you might want to edit the velocity templates associated with the email events, That will apply to the whole instance and it's not recommended as it has to be maintained (during upgrades for instance). If you use the Service Desk Custom emails, you can add…

Great, glad it worked then! I can guess you're using a cloud instance due to the URL and the REST API might be evolving a lot as you mentioned! usually it does not have a huge impact but might trigger some unexpected behaviours from time to time! Hope it won't affect your instance too much.

Hi Emre, I would recommend you to use select2 from AUI instead of aui-select! It's documented here: https://docs.atlassian.com/aui/latest/docs/auiselect2.html It's closer to the Atlassian interface and as you have to "enable" the select 2, you just have to create all options before calling the AJS.$().select2(); I guess…

Hi Ron, You can easily export the data you mention with native fields. "parent" will give you a subtask parent where "Epic link" will give the epic. Those values will be issue keys only. You can easily VLOOKUP those information in Excel to get the summary and more details if required! If you have deeper reporting needs,…

Hi Vijav, In my organization(huge bank, north america) we are using Agile Cards for Jira (Spartez) and it's working well! I'm not saying other plugins are better or worse but I can tell you that we've never been disappointed with the plugin. The new "project template" feature can even print cards in different formats for…

==== UPDATE FROM Oct 29th, 2018 ==== Please scroll in comments for an updated answer and an alternative method. ==== ORIGINAL CONTENT ==== Hi Adam, My suggestion would be to edit your permission scheme and grant the "Assignable User" permission to a group custom field value as described below: That would only allow users…

Hi Brian, The whole web resources management process is detailed in the documentation here: https://developer.atlassian.com/jiradev/jira-platform/building-jira-add-ons/jira-plugins2-overview/jira-plugin-module-types/web-resource-plugin-module If your resources needs to be loaded from a velocity template, the…

Hi Chris, REST API needs authentication and that can be achived by various ways, easiest and most common one being Basic Auth (using an HTTP Header encoded in Base64). When you're consulting the API through your browser, if you currently are logged in the application, a cookie is automatically retrieved but if the consumer…

Great! Please check this question as answered if you don't mind, that might help people in the same situation to find their way through this. Welcome in the complex but fascinating family of Jira Apps developers, I am myself still improving but learnt a lot and loved it! Have a great day!

In that case it seems to be a deeper issue related to the plugin behaviour. I advise you to open a request with InTENSO after reviewing your logs. Also, of course, getting the last version would help you ensuring you have the latest bugfixes and enhancements available. AFAIK extension-portal-assignee-panel should work in…

Hi Robert, Glad you appreciate my feedback! Automation is already bundled with Service Desk as a module and you can automate many things thanks to it, including actions based on transitions, that was my suggestion :) There are other ways to create automations in Jira, the most popular can arguably be Scripting (using…

Hi Martin, The comment field is automatically added to transition screens which might be why it's added in a single transition. Can you please let me know if that precise transition is using a screen? When no screen is supplied, comments should not appear! Cheers

Hi, You can use the Board configuration, under Card Layout (Backlog option) to remove the version tag. That should do the trick :) Cheers

Hi Johannes, Seems like the destination status name is not correct. Might be a lot of things actually. Could you share your service associated code? Thanks

Hi, I'm pretty sure you're facing an issue which is already known and good news is that here's a workaround! Here is the knowledge base article to help you fixing that: https://confluence.atlassian.com/kb/cannot-retrieve-link-and-provider-entity-when-creating-application-link-827117142.html The idea is that your Jira…

Great! Glad you've found your way around this problem :)

Hi Robert, I would say that not a single workflow is too complex for Jira! That being said you'll need to understand a lot about Jira to handle complex cases. Regarding your "priority" triage activity, that's pretty easy: setting priority might be done through a screen, displayed when transitioning from a status to…

Hi, I would recommend you to use the RegEx groovy feature :) <span>boolean</span><span> match </span><span>=</span> <span>"2010.12.12"</span> <span>==~</span>…

Hi, Time tracking data is not available in Issue Detail View. You might want to add it to the Card layout where they can show. It's not perfect but the only workaround I'm aware of. Hope this helps!

Hi Arnaud, Scrum boards and Kanban boards are not handling backlog the same way: * Backlog is a status or set of status in Kanplan * Backlog is based on sprints being allocated in Scrum boards That being said, I think what you need is a way to automate the transition from Backlog to Open when filling out a Sprint. You…

Great, enjoy :)

Hi Natalia, Based on your needs, the approach might differ. The instance backup (XML) is the best option for eventual future restore, that being said, it's not really user friendly if you need to access the archive from time to time. Another option would be to backup your database, which is having the same drawback of not…

Hi Sevak, Plugins can have multiple contexts for different pages or servlets based on your needs. When you set a context, it must be required in the precises places you want to use it for resources to be injected. When you use atl.general context, the script is therefore injected in all pages which is the expected…

Hi Ian, There's an open request for this feature in Atlassian's backlog here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSDSERVER-328 There also is a plugin (mentioned in the thread, called "Extensions for Jira Service Desk") which allows the assignee name to be displayed. I advise you to either try out this plugin or watch the…
