Great insights! Delivery by JQL sounds promising.

Hello @Karthik , welcome! You are looking for automatically propagating changes that are merged to R1 to R2 every day. I can see 2 options: * You can use the aforementioned automatic branch merge feature in Bitbucket under the conditions * R1 and R2 actual naming follows semantic versioning. * You have a branching model…

Hello @Sinan SARI - welcome to the community. Bitbucket Datacenter ships with a reviewer group feature however the feature is blocked off for Bitbucket Server edition. I totally agree that reviewer groups is a powerful feature for 3 reasons: * You always target the right reviewers: group names are easier to remember when…

Great comment @Erez Maadani ! This kind of out-of-sync scenario happens quite often in larger teams as 'master' or 'main' evolve quickly. I found this strategy the easiest: * While on feature branch: $ git fetch origin master This will update the local representation of master (FETCH_HEAD), but not mess up your files on…

At the moment you will need to rely on local git pre-receive hooks as pointed out by @Pramodh M . There is an open feature request for Bitbucket cloud https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/BCLOUD-10471 to enforce hooks remotely. Please vote to signal to Atlassian that this is a much needed feature. Thank you @Michael Walker for the clarification. What is the best way to retrieve a list of repository groups via a named search query for a user with repo admin permissions (the user is not workspace/account owner)?
-
We use projects as a configuration layer between workspace and repository for branching model and default reviewers. This way repos can inherit the project setting or override it.

I am not sure[*edit] disabling all apps on Bitbucket startup is possible - here is some documentation for Jira on how to do that. Another option is to uninstall all apps manually while the server is down by removing them from the DB - again - I've only found an article for Confluence Best to open a serverity 1 ticket with…

Thanks for sharing these useful APIs. Do you still use v1 APIs? Atlassian announced deprecation (2018) and removal (2019) ?

@Raktim - you can differentiate by specifying the source branch and the destination branch in Workzone settings. The required number of successful build will be checked for every PR from the source to destination branch. Changing the required number of build dynamically when you create the PR (just like adding reviewers)…

Hello David, to override the merge-commit message Bitbucket creates you can trigger a PR merge via the Bitbucket cloud rest api https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/bitbucket/rest/api-group-pullrequests/#api-repositories-workspace-repo-slug-pullrequests-pull-request-id-merge-post and define the merge message via the…

Please allow me to rephrase: 1. If your Bitbucket server licence expired 31/Jan you can't upgrade to a version of Bitbucket that was released after 31/Jan 2. The same applies for plugin license. If your plugin license expired in June 22 you cannot use a version of the plugin that was released after June 22 I need to…

Hello @Krishna Kumar Yadav - welcome to the community. what type of groups are you after? 1. Bitbucket server pull request reviewer groups (available in repository/project settings) - https://docs.atlassian.com/bitbucket-server/rest/7.21.0/bitbucket-rest.html#idp393 2. Bitbucket user directory groups?…

Hello @cloudmanager135 - welcome to the community! Bitbucket server app licensing is implemented so that you can use _any_ app version that was released before or on the date your Bitbucket server license expires. Unfortunately you can't use an app version that was released after the date your Bitbucket server license…

Hello @Georgi Krumov When you set up Bitbucket on your system it is recommended to create a dedicated `bitbucket` user and run bitbucket as such a user. There's a KB…

> How can I create this on the BCLOUD issue tracker If you have a paid BBCloud subscription create a BBCloud support request and they will clarify and create the BCLOUD ticket.

Hi @markgillespien Bitbucket repository and/or project settings let you define default reviewers https://confluence.atlassian.com/bitbucketserver/add-default-reviewers-to-pull-requests-834221295.html You can also configure a…

@ThePokyWizard If you just need to control direct push from local to remote master just enter 'master' into the Branch permission's "select branch" input field. (It's currently set to 'main') Obviously you can nominate exceptions for some user(s) as you have done and let the rest of the team merge to 'master' via PR only.…

Hi @Vishal Paike - welcome! You can check out 3rd party apps in Workspace > Settings > Marketplace apps to see if any provide the functionality. As a matter of fact we wrote Workzone for Bitbucket Cloud for exactly this use case (and much more) for our team and have made it available on the Marketplace for BB Cloud. You…

Thanks for clarifying @Patrik S - I understand that @Raktim may have 2 different _source_ branches both merging to main branch. Say we have PRs from bugfix/abc to main require 1 successful build and PRs from feature/xyz require 2 successful builds. Can you confirm, @Raktim If that's the use case - Workzone for BB Cloud is…

As far as I know required build results can only be set to an absolute number in Bitbucket cloud.

Server/ DC (on-prem) licensing via license key is self-contained within the product. You create a (trial/commercial) license key on my.atlassian.com and add it to your instance. When the license is up, the product stops certain features like git push, creating pull requests, etc.. You will have to renew your license for…

Hi Manish, welcome to the community. There are several hooks that would do that for out available on the Atlassian Marketplace - you can install the app in Bitbucket and configure the added hook(s) according to your needs. Good luck and let us know how you go. Best, Ulrich Izymes // Eliminate boring from work

'preUpdate' is used on 2 occasions: 1. When rendering the merge button (disabling it, if rejected) 2. When actually merging the PR, the merge fails if rejected by hook You can make merge strategies available in repository or project settings. If more than one is available the user can't merge, I don't know though if the…

Good question! Your hook implementation (see above) either returns RepositoryHookResult.rejected('reason', 'description') and Bitbucket will not be able to merge. Or if the right strategy is selected the hook returns RepositoryHookResult.accepted() Hope that helps you further. Best, Ulrich

Thanks for posting your EDIT update. Glad you worked it out! Let us know if you need any help with your SCM process in Bitbucket! Cheers, Ulrich Izymes

Glad you're making some progress. You can configure available repository merge strategies - and only those will be enabled for the merge commit dropdown. If your hook enforces a certain merge strategy and other strategies are available in the dropdown - the PR will be merged by Bitbucket only if the right strategy is…

Hi @Evan Slaughter - is the source available? I would like to find out how an app can place client-web items in the create PR screen from an app development point of view. Your help is much appreciated. Thanks, Ulrich
