Thanks @John Funk !

Hey Ricky, We can't announce the exact date just yet but it won't be long. Your Jira Admin will be notified and it will be automatically turned on so no action will be needed. You will get an email about it all close to the time so you will have plenty of notice. Cheers, John

Hi Ricky, Apologies for late response, just getting back from Paternity leave! Yes your company's entire Jira instance will be upgraded to Jira Premium automatically during that time period so users can experience Advanced Roadmaps. It will be the same instance (rather than a new test instance). You can choose to downgrade…

Hi @Mridu Bhattacharya Thanks for registering! Looking forward to the webinar this week. Apologies for the delayed response. I was on an unexpectedly early paternity leave :) Thanks @johnfunk for jumping in and sharing those resources! You could also take a peek into the rule playground for inspiration:…

Thanks @Taranjeet, We are pretty excited about the GitHub and GitLab elements too. Should bring lots of new automation options for customers!

Hi Jeanne, No the roadmap feature in Jira Standard unfortunately won't allow for multi-team and multi-project roadmaps. These are features for the Premium offering. The functionality for Automation for Jira won't change at all. In fact, we have already released new features including 5 new triggers. There are limits for…

Hi Jeanne, I hear where you are coming from. Trying to get the balance right is a challenge. We felt like offering unlimited automation executions at a single project level provides great value to a large number of customers but I know it's not perfect for everyone. Regarding Portfolio, the good news is that we are also…

Hey @Erin Mihalik , Thanks for your message. Just to clarify, as a former Automation for Jira customer - you will now be on the extended free trial of Jira Premium (until June 2nd) so all rules will run as normal. From that date, you have the choice to continue with Jira Premium and have unlimited multi-project & global…

Hi Rick, I appreciate that. It can be tricky to find the right balance sometimes but I think these new automation limits are a great outcome for all. Hope all is well and you are staying safe :) John
-
Hi @WasimBuden , thanks for your message (and thanks Jack for jumping in!). I appreciate your patience while there is a gap between the Automation for Jira app not being available in the marketplace and it being a native feature in Jira Cloud. To answer your question - existing Automation for Jira customers now have access…
-
Hey David, it should only run for when a project is created in AT (from looking at your rule). By adding that condition in there, you have ensure that it won't run every time an issue is created (which could obviously cause havoc!) Do you have any other rules that might be causing it? May be worthwhile to put the ticket…
-
Hey @David Loszewski I may be able to help here. Looking at the screenshot of your rule above, it looks like your JQL branch is working off a different project(s). Because of this, it won't work as a single-project rule. The best option for you here would be to run a multi-project rule where you can specify which projects…
-
Hi Ivana, Thanks for your message. Your existing global rules will continue to run. We will be communicating to Automation for Jira customers really soon about the changes. I'd recommend holding off making any decisions until you receive that email so you have all the info needed to make the right call. Really appreciate…
-
Hi Tim, thanks for your message. Atlassian recently acquired the app Automation for Jira. It is currently not available in the marketplace but we will have some news around this space really soon. Apologies for the inconvenience in the meantime. Thanks, John
-
Hi Rick, thanks for your message and raising these valid points. There has been similar feedback regarding the proposed rule execution limits and I have taken it all back to the team for consideration. Rather than respond to each of your point here, if it's OK with you, I'll come back to these questions when I have…
-
Hi @Darryl Lee , thanks for your message. The app has indeed been removed from the Atlassian Marketplace. We will have more information around the automation space really soon. Apologies for the inconvenience it is causing but we will have an update for customers soon. Sorry I can't be more specific but really appreciate…
-
Hi Jack, thanks for your message (also thank you for all of the support and automation help you have provided AFJ customers over the years :) We have heard this feedback from customers (on this page and in emails) and I have presented it all back to the teams. I hope to have a definite answer for customers really soon and…
-
Hi Lukas, thanks for your message and honesty. It was great that we had a chance to catch up in Barcelona in 2018! I definitely hear where you are coming from here and I have gathered all feedback and presented it back. I'm sorry I can't give a more exact answer at the moment but we will notify Automation for Jira…

Hi Andrew, I don't have any more information on this just now but I will update any changes here and via email as soon as I can. Apologies, I know it's frustrating as you look to organize your automation. Thanks, John
-
Hi there, thanks for your message! If you install Automation for Jira - it just means you have 2 automation engines. One won't disrupt the other so you will have the best of both worlds :) Many other customers do this. I hope that helps. John
-
Hi John, I hear your frustration completely (as well as others on this page). Jira Software Premium was designed to help teams scale in confidence and while there is more than just automation in there, I understand, for existing Automation for Jira users, it does cost more. I can only answer honestly that I will take your…
-
Hi Andy, I understand completely. I know how much work can go in to testing an app, going through procurement, etc. Let me present your feedback to the team. You have my email also so please reach out if you need any help or specific advice. Thanks again, John
-
Hi Meg, It was a pleasure chatting with you recently at the training. I hope you found it useful! Thanks for your honest feedback here also. The plan was designed to try and offer a fair use of automation across the different plans and help bigger customer scale but I understand this is a big change for existing customers…
-
Hi Andrew, thanks for your comment here. I got your email also so I will reply in both places just in case. I definitely hear where you are coming from. 2000 monthly rule executions (as a Jira Software Cloud Standard customer) is the number that we believed provides fair value to customers on Jira Software Standard. In…
-
Hey Jeanne, thanks for your feedback. John from the automation team here. We designed these changes in order to minimize any disruption to your work and to help customers scale confidently in Cloud. I appreciate your concerns here though and want to make sure you are across all of the options open to you. I'd love to chat…

Thanks @John Funk

Hey Julien, thanks for your feedback here. We designed these changes in order to minimize any disruption to your work and with the assumption that most paid Automation for Jira customers would be interested in continuing to use the automation feature at scale. You will get unlimited automation executions in Jira Software…

Hey Karyn, Just a quick update to let you know this is unfortunately not going to get done prior to xmas. It will be completed in January. Sorry if this delays things for you but I just wanted to make sure you weren't waiting and wondering! Cheers, John

Hey Karyn, John here from Atlassian (formerly Code Barrel) thanks for your message. It's a good question too. You are correct in that Automation for Jira is now an Atlassian app. It will move over to the Atlassian T&Cs which will make life easier for GDPR. I am in the process of making this all happen (it just takes a…
