BBQ is my other life outside of my technology day job and I love it. * have a competition BBQ team * teach grilling/smoking classes privately and at a cooking school * Catering business (use Trello to manage) and just started bottling sauces, rubs, and pickles * Love learning different techniques and types or BBQ from…

Mo - I have 5 smokers in my back yard plus a trailer smoker. I have a problem...but I am ok with that. -Ed

Srikanth - You can start by reviewing the scriptrunner doco and look at samples. https://scriptrunner.adaptavist.com/latest/jira/quickstart.html and the Atlassian developer doc on creating an issue https://developer.atlassian.com/server/jira/platform/performing-issue-operations/ and this previous…

Couple of ways to do this. If you have Script Runner, you can use behaviors. If you have cPrime Power Scripts, you can use live fields and add a hook/watch to that field and script the issue creation. I believe it can be accomplished with the Automation for JIRA plugin as well.

Just add the 'not' project = "XXX" AND (issueFunction not in hasSubtasks())
-
Looks like you are trying to access a service desk project. Has the user been added to the service-desk-agent group?
-
soooo shiny!!!!
-
Ah ok - you used to be able to go into your profile and turn pre-populated comments off if you were a service desk agent. Not sure if Atlassian has removed that option as of now. I'll dig on that one.
-
Hey Robert - you should be able to modify or remove the response by going to your JSD project --> Project Settings --> Customer notifications. There are default rules for different activities (i.e. comment created). Hope that helps. -Ed
-
Hey Jerry - There are a couple of ways you can handle these files. 1. you can attach (or embed) to a page as you indicate. 2. you can create a file list page to store your files. This will offer versioning and the ability to edit/upload the document from the office application (i.e. Excel) see 2 screen shots below. 3. If…

Hi Ellen - Confluence does not support blog templates as they do for pages and it appears this functionality is not on the foreseeable road map - see https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFSERVER-4174 There are applications (plugins) that can handle this for you such as one by…

Just jump in and start banging around. I always learned that way the best - usually broke something and then had to figure out how to fix it :)
-
Hey Jake - you can do this. Say you create an initial project as a kanban project - you can add a scrum board to this project and visa versa. See example screen shots.
-
You would need to write your SIL script to perform the update logic. Then in the transition post function you may reference that existing SIL script to be executed.
-
Hey Tim - If I am understanding you correctly, sounds like that is a transition screen. Look at the workflow driving your board and you can click on a transition -> edit and you will see the option to specify a screen that will appear when the transition is executed.
-
If it is an option for you, you can utilize JIRA Suite Utilities (JSU) or JIRA Misc Workflow Extensions (JMWE). Both apps have a clear field post function option.
-
You want to see all the latest updates in a confluence space? If so, you can use the 'Recently Updated' macro and configure it for the space you want and max number of entries to show.
-
Usually that means some sort of non standard characters or collation issue. You might want to eyeball this - https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/jira-application-internationalisation-and-encoding-troubleshooting-203394762.html or also try and throw the information into a text editor and see if you find any special…

cool - good to know!
-
Colin - When you say using a script listener are you meaning you are using an app like scriptrunner or power scripts to perform this? If scriptrunner you should be able to use something like: issue.getKey() if Power Scripts you could use something like: string[] fields; fields = getIssueFields(key); -Ed
-
Hey Steve - May need a little more context. Is this happening when you are trying to initially create an issue or is this happening further down the workflow. Also, do you have access to your atlassian-jira.log file to see what error messages may be showing up in there? -Ed
-
Hi Kumar - Yes, you can make a REST call via scriptrunner. Here is an example of that: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Adaptavist-questions/Making-a-REST-call-using-script-runner/qaq-p/576712 That should point you down the right path. Cheers, -Ed

Welcome James - Wasn't Summit a blast? So much information and learning. I look forward to seeing you more in the community here. -Ed

Hi Niveditha - I believe that 6.0.3 is impacted based on the following in the release announcement: - From version 2.0.0 before 6.6.13 (the fixed version for 6.6.x) So, you would need to get up to version 6.6.13 at the minimum. -Ed
-
Tarun - Do you have a screen shot of the permission scheme you are using you can provide? Probably need to check the roles set for the Assignable users, etc... -Ed
-
Right - like Nic indicated, you can change the colors scheme for the JIRA application globally (System --> User Interface --> Look and Feel) but not on a per project basis.
-
Not sure about cloud, but you can definitely do this on JIRA Service Desk Server. We do this exact scenario using the Bob Swift 'create on transition' plugin. On the service desk workflow, you can create a post function on the 'create' transition (or any applicable transition). Add the 'create on transition' post function.…

Sorry about that Ross. I should have clarified that the calculated text or numeric field is a part of the JIRA Misc Custom Fields plugin (free from Innovalog). Once you have that option, you would put the sum formula in the description of the field.
-
If you have one field configuration that is associated with both of the screens, and the field are marked as required on the field configuration, you will hit that required error (even if you don't have the field physically added to one of the screens). An option would be to create a different field configuration for the…

yes, you can use Script Runner or the calculated text/number field (add custom field --> advanced) to populate a summed value to another custom field (i.e. Custom Field Total)
