I haven't seen a one vs many option in notification schemes. You can turn off some noise in preferences, but otherwise you'd end up editing notification schemes that would impact others.

A SQL query or JQL Query from within Jira? An easy JQL is: Project = "whatever" AND fixVersion is not EMPTY You can export that to csv to manipulate. I'm always hesitant to touch backend SQL without getting a full use case explained first.

Hi Donna, indeed so. You can modify the project permissions scheme. For instance if you have an HR project and want HR Staff to see all the tickets, but the person who created the ticket to only see their own, do the following to the project permission scheme: 1. Remove Jira-Users from Browse Projects permission and other…

Hi Tony, I run Teams with the Jira integration with Jira On Premise. The same documentation as above applies.

Awesome, thanks for this. I certainly agree - installing a Web Application Firewall and doing ssl offload is certainly better and better performing, especially in busy environments. SSLLabs has some score limiters in place, for instance TLSv1.0 will limit your protocol score to 90%, 1.1 will limit you to 95% and I think…

What is Friday fun and how do i start sipping that koolaide ? :)

You may want to create a secondary agile board and run sprints if you just want to see work the team has dedicated time to. The kanban board in edit mode, will let you move statuses to the backlog.

Hello, have you reviewed the documentation on cloning issues?
-
Hello, how many jira user directories do you have? Is the ldap directory set to be first in the order of directories? Take a look at the migrating documentation for directories.

Sometimes its very hard to demonstrate benefits until you're leading by example. I find most Atlassian products sell themselves once introduced into an environment. In your case, you might start with a trial license or with Trello. There's lots of marketing video's out there and case studies, but if you have a few managers…

Hi Matt, here's a reference from The university of Wisconsin. You should be an admin of the team, and an admin in Jira. Right click the channel and select connectors. Select Jira.
-
Hello, the bots are freely available within teams already. In teams, click the elipses (...) next to the channel name. Select Connectors. Jira, Trello and Bitbucket are listed. Click configure. It will typically walk you through how to setup. For jira, its all webhook configuration. Please don't buy an addon you don't need…

Hello, you might be interested in a plugin from the marketplace. Take a look at Agile Cards.

It appears there is a workaround on confluence server, see the user comments on: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFSERVER-40471

Awesome, thanks for the feedback ;)

Do you capture the users email and are they users of the system or imported via ldap? typically you'd have them with accounts and have them as watchers or reporters to get updates. If that doesn't apply and you just want to capture a way to reach them back - then a more manual process perhaps, such as a custom field to…

This looks a bit like Jira Service desk? If so, open the project settings, look under "Automation" On that screen you'll see - default rules run as " user" and a change default event user button there. For what its worth, for our service desk - we have a user created called " ServiceDesk" and it runs the automation rules…

Hello, one Marketplace Addon I recommend is No Email Storm This allows your users to update pages without notifying everyone watching the page. It is a free app.

Hi Scott, a tool like lysncd maybe worth testing.

Cool. are your users in question members of this group? Other places to look: 1. Under administration, system tab, project roles. Check Service Desk team role to see if it's been modified. 2. If the users are coming in via ldap or a saml module - check those to see what groups are being assigned as the user comes in. for…
-
Can you take a look under Administration, Applications... Check Application Access. See what's checked there as Default. Wonder if you have Jira-Users added to Jira-Service desk or something.
-
Hi, what version Jira are you on? I've heard of a bug in Jira Server 7.3.0 that impacts this.

You could get to this data via a JQL. If you go to Issues menu and search for issues, you can use the JQL as Component = "componentname". You can edit the columns displayed on the far right by clicking the down tick by Columns and selecting the ones you want to see. You can export that data to csv and manipulate in excel…

I'd agree with Nic - kind of a poor man's standby solution i've seen is two mirrored application servers replicating folders. The standby being shutdown Jira. Then the database server is doing the same thing. active / passive. You do have to either manually intervene. If you lose an app server, turn on the secondary and…

Thaney, take a look at this video I came across as well. It walks through your scenario of adding an external user to see one project. https://youtu.be/wvdVNpgG34M

Awesome board! Looks like a couple of the image links are broken to see the rest of the example boards, but they sound cool.

What groups is that user a member of? For flow - Permission Schemes define what can happen on the Project level. What may help you visualize this better is the permissions helper tool. How to use the permissions helper 1. Click the settings cog wheel (upper right), and select Issues. 2. Click Permission schemes. 3. Click…
-
Ok, so you have the permission scheme. It says - Browse Projects - Granted to Project Role - Users. You have to then go to the project, edit it and look at the users and roles tab. You'll see who the group "users" are. In my case, Users, are Jira-Users, and everyone is in Jira-Users, so the project is visible. If you want…

Go ahead and add the line in to the dbconfig file. I believe in a clean build instance that line is included, but on an upgrade instance it may not be or may not have been noticed until the Atlassian tools did a better job detecting config issues. Collation determines how results are sorted and ordered. In newer versions…

Correct, Add <pool-test-on-borrow>false</pool-test-on-borrow> line in the dbconfig.xml when instance with MySQL database is created. did you fix the collation of the database?
