THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS! WOW.

New title suggestion - "New to Confluence? Five ways APPs make it Amazing" or "Craving More Confluence Power? Five ways to supercharge the best Wiki ever" I don't think this article really helps you decide which apps to pick. I did learn that there is a category for 'macros' on apps, which is kind of neat.

looks like this was removed - https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-questions/site-space-to-personal-space/qaq-p/1320277 Also looks like you can do DB changes to fix it - https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/how-to-convert-a-global-space-to-a-personal-space-type-in-confluence-747832091.html I havn't dont it…

Totally worked.

Hey Maxine, Service desk projects still stay as service desk projects. You can control who can see the project using the standard 'users and roles' menu. If you grant access to someone who isn't licensed for jira SD you will see a very different view of the project. They can see stuff but can't do major things in SD - like…

Doesn't work on wood :D

Bridget Sauer requested feedback on this page on the following 2 questions 1) Is the content format helpful? 2) Is the information is useful? -- 1) I like how the data center only stuff was called out at the top of the post, but then found it confusing when the article wasn't about datacenter stuff. I like that it was…

I'm happy this post exists. ROFL.

My fiance and I want to write a book, we are thinking of setting up a free confluence space as the platform. :) Maybe your dad is techie enough?

A tangent but seeming related in my brain, such a good read for nerdy types that like the idea of code impacting reality - https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18616975-off-to-be-the-wizard

TLDR; Nic was right, you can only have one base url because the base url is used in internal application functions. External proxies only fix external requests. Atlassian software functionality is hard coded to use the base url and doesn't provide the option for multiple base urls. If your goal is to have a fully…

We had 10 attendees, it was great meeting everyone. A big thanks to SNYK for hosting! David

Ok thanks.

Can you elaborate on this more? What steps did you take to " Disable tomcat and rule URI's from this ngins server"?
-
Worked! Thanks. I'd say this is the most straight forward answer. David

Yep! Awesome!

This good to know. Thanks!

Looks like the keystore file was deleted when the upgrade ran. You will need to copy that file back to the server after the upgrade. The keystore file is a java thing that holds your certificates and is needed when you configure Tomcat to do SSL (https). The path where the keystore is found is in the server.xml file. EG -…

We want to beable to customize the message sent as well. Our technicians are on the road and want to see more context of a issue, just the title is not really enough. It would be nice to see the description as well. Anyone else solve this problem in another way? I'm assuming that if we had development resources we could…

I'm getting asked if this exists or not as well. Does anyone know? The ticket - https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSDSERVER-726 - says that it was fixed, and says "Queues are now automatically updated. Animations indicating updates have been added in 2.5 - see release notes" The release notes -…

Here is how I see very clearly what has changed: 1) Open the page you want to see about changes 2) ... (in top right) > page history > click an older page 3) Click "compare with current" (top of the page on the leftish side) I find doing it this way is easier then reading the email, technically they are the same but it…

Doesn't work issue.store(); is deprecated.

It's so subtle! Go to your workflows, scroll to the very bottom and there is 'inactive' text, clicking on that expands all your inactive workflows!

Hey Bryan, is this your intuition or is this something that the company has announced? I've heard similar rumblings but I'm looking to find something concrete that says the future is going to be cloud. If that's the case it may be good to start pivoting now.

Given Jira's origin it's not surprising. In my ops world we like to merge tickets, but from the developer world of jira you don't get 50 tickets for the same issue. The question becomes WHY do you get so many duplicates. There is a strong argument for not having Nagios or other automated systems make tickets. Why create…

If you think of Jira as a raw potato you will be less disappointed. I also was expecting french fries and got a raw potato. Switching your frame of reference makes its much better to work with, the important part is to make sure you have a deep fryer on hand if you want french fries, or a masher salt and butter and cream…

It turns out there is some highlighting in the email notifications, it's just not that obvious and its a lighter color.
