On cursory check, the answer seems to be negative. When I'm retrieving an issue via REST API, like this: https://my-jira-server/rest/api/2/search?jql=key=top-3765&fields=issuelinks it only returns the same-server links. In the browser, I do see the external links as well. I will research it further sometimes later.

Found the solution! After re-reading requests() documentation here: https://requests.kennethreitz.org/en/master/user/quickstart/, in the section titled 'More complicated POST requests', I changed the code to this: requests.put(url=url, headers=headers, json=payload) and it worked.

Than ks. But this code is in Python, so single- and double-quotes are the same - a string. Regarding the jira-python module, I'm aware of it, but it is quite complicated to use. I used it in the past on Linux. I did try to install it, and it failed when it was trying to compile some SSL-related code. This is on Windows…

No it's not. When I changed the key 'update' to 'Xupdate' I got the error on the character 'X'. So the API is expecting a different JSON structure, but it's unclear what exactly.

The script relies on the hack (suggested earlier in this thread) that assumes that the function ActionContext.getRequest() returns non-null on user-initiated create action and null on clone. Amir

I may be missing something obvious here... The best way to block any transition in a workflow is to add a condition. However, in Jira 8.x (and probably earlier), the Create transition does not support Conditions. So the other option is to create a validator that will fail. This is fine and dandy, but it means that the user…
-
See my comment later - validator will work, but it's a bad UX.

My vote is with @PD Sheehan - Sometimes, one project has 5 options and the other has only 4, but I need the names to be identical. So I also think it's a wrong design. What is really needed here is a checkbox that will say 'aggregate identical values across field contexts' and everyone will be happy. From past experience,…

I am using Jira 8, YMMV. You cannot add specific users as Viewers, but you can add them as Editors: Menu --> Edit dashboard --> Add Editors --> [select User] --> type her name in text box --> Update

Thanks DPK. Please note (this is for anyone reading this thread) that if you look for a different JIRA version and you click on the link listed on the top of the page: * List of all Jira REST APIs you are then redirected to the directory listing that I mentioned in my question, which does not include anything higher than…

It sounds complicated and you must have ScriptRunner. Also, since it's a long text field, it does not have a single integer value. What you ca do is this: * Create a behaviour on the field * In the behaviour, read the new field contents * Strip away all wiki-style formatting (which may be there if the user just modified…

Two clarifications: 1. The date format applies to the current import operation for one CSV file. When you fire up another import on another CSV file, you can specify a different format, corresponding to the format in the new CSV file. 2. If you save the configuration from the 1st import, the date format is saved as well.…

The Jira add-on JEMH (Jira Enterprise Mail Handler) may be able to do that, I am checking.
-
There is no way to search, AFAIK. There are two options that I have used: 1. If you have the add-on Better Excel Exporter for Jira, you can run a query and export the results+comments into an Excel file. 2. Use the Jira REST-API to perform the query (as you specified above). In the list of fields to retrieve, specify the…
-
Yes. You send a JSON file asking for issues and in the fields you specify "comments" (see below), and you get back a JSON file with a list of comments for each issue. The data for each comment contains the comment ID, the author details, the body, the updater details (if comment was updated) and the dates (created,…

I cannot find the exact quote, but a frustrated Jira user referred to the add-ons vs. missing Jira features with this quote: "It's like deciding to not build a road between two cities because there are commercial flights between them" :-)

I found one free add-on and one paid: Free: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1217983/e-mail-this-page?hosting=server&tab=overview Paid: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1214285/mail-page?hosting=server&tab=overview Will check them next week, hopefully. Amir

My bad, I omitted this line: MutableIssue issue = issue which should be placed somewhere after all the import statements. Let me know if it works.
-
@Muface Calidad 1. Can you please let me know what does not work? It does work for me, but no 2 Jira systems in the world are identical :-) 2. The listener listens on which event? 3. Can you share the code of the listener? Thanks

Here it is: // Note: Not sure whether all imports are required, it's a cut & paste from other scripts import com.atlassian.jira.component.ComponentAccessor import com.atlassian.jira.ComponentManager import com.atlassian.jira.issue.CustomFieldManager import com.atlassian.jira.issue.fields.CustomField import…

Also, if the property does not have a value, how is the resolution set? The only way is by using a post-function
-
Well, not in my case - the specific transition does not set the resolution. And I did search Google, Atlassian docs and the forums - only then I posted the question.
-
Hi Marc, Thanks for your useful insights. Indeed, you do not need to use the cf[nnnnn] construct - can use the custom field names instead in the first part. But since the second part of the query (inside the expression() construct) must refer to the CFs by their IDs, IMO it makes more sense to be consistent in the same…

An official support ticket was submitted to Atlassian. With their help, the reason was identified to be an old version of an add-on - BlackDuck 4.1.7. Once the add-on was updated to the latest version (4.2.1) the problem was fixed.
-
I've created a post-function that implements Thanos' suggestion from the link I shared above. Some observations: 1. It works (duh!) 2. In the post-functions definition, the script must be placed AFTER the action 'Create the issue originally'. 3. For debug, I pop up a user message box. It shows up in issue creation, but not…

Just to expand on Nick's answer - When you import, you're asked to select the date format. All the date and date/time fields in your CSV file must be in this format. If the format that you selected is, for example, yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm, then all date-picker fields must also specify the time (whatever you choose it to be).…
