Hey Kristina, One of these should meet your needs: https://docs.getxray.app/display/XRAY/Enhanced+querying+with+JQL Is there anything that is missing to cover your use case?

@Suvradip Paul pay attention to With standard JQL you can only get a list of issues with links and export them to Excel for further processing. This works if you want to do a one-off analysis. That's basically where you need a plugin unless you requirements are very simplistic like getting links of an issue with a known…

Hi, With standard JQL you can only get a list of issues with links and export them to Excel for further processing. This works if you want to do a one-off analysis. Standard JQL doesn't easily allow it but the results can be quickly found using our professional indexing service: * JQL Search Extensions After you install…

That's right. Standard JQL has support for basic searches like that. If you have a static list of issue keys then you're fine with vanilla JQL. If you need the queries to be more dynamic then it's a good idea to search for JQL extensions.

Hi @Jacqui Pretty , As you're on Jira Cloud the correct answer is to get an app that provides JQL extensions you're looking for. With standard JQL you can only get a list of issues and export them to Excel for further processing. This works if you want to do a one-off analysis. Your use case is more dynamic than that.…

It's issuekey in portfolioChildIssuesOf(MDC-27)

Hi @Dan Hickey You can create your swimlane with this JQL: "Epic Link"=MYEPIC-1 The swimlane will contain all the tickets that are under your epic. Let me know if this answers your question.

Are you sure it works in cloud though?

Directly from the mouth of the beast: maxResults integer The maximum number of items to return per page. To manage page size, Jira may return fewer items per page where a large number of fields are requested. The greatest number of items returned per page is achieved when requesting id or key only.…

Do you see duplicates on the same page? I yes, it's a bug in Jira. If you see duplicates on 2 different pages then the ticket most probably changes its place between 2 page calls.
-
It's not possible with JQL. The keywords that are available only allow to search among all comments in the issues. You can't apply multiple criteria to a single comment.

Seems like the best clone tool for Jira cloud. Wish I implemented it 5 years ago 😁

Hi Aman, If you want this search to be dynamic and you need to perform it regularly, you may want to consider our indexing service: * JQL Search Extensions After you install the app you can run a query like this: type=Incident issue in linkedIssuesOfQuery("type=Change", "relates to") The query should return all incidents…

Do you really need a separate ticket for each project? Maybe the ticket can be shared? If I had a requirement like that I'd probably clone the ticket with automation. Or maybe there are apps for that, try searching for "clone" in the Atlassian marketplace.

Hi @vbetoglou Standard JQL doesn't support it. As you said, you could make a static list of epics and manualy craft your query this way. This only works for very simple scenarios. In your case you should consider using an app. You may want to join thousands of companies that use our professional indexing service: * JQL…

A new JQL function that support this was added a while ago. See my answer here.

@Christine Fowkes @Jack Brickey make sure to precede updatedBy with the issue in clause. For example: issue in updatedBy(daniel)
-
Can't it be solved by referring to a group instead of to each user separately? Clearly those users have something in common and they could be a part of a group.
-
Hi @Christine Fowkes , In standard JQL there is a function updatedBy(). It allows you the search for tickets that were updated by a particular person and optionally limit the dates. If you're interested only in one ticket then the history tab is the place to look at and not really JQL. In case you have a recurring…

Not really. comment ~ currentUser() returns issues commented by you but also issues that only mention you in the comments You may want to live with it. If it's a strong requirement and you want to perform this search regularly then consider our app JQL Search Extensions.

-
Hi @Joel Blazquez , It's not possible to get the results you're looking for with standard JQL. For one off-jobs you can get away with Excel export. In your case, however, you really should consider installing an app. This way everything will be automatically handled by the indexing service. While you are researching…

Hi Samuel, Are you asking how to refer to your filter in the JQL? The syntax is: filter="My filter"
-
Hi, Just to add to what @Daniel Ebers said. You can perform wildcard searches and regular expression searches with our professional indexing service JQL Search Extensions. You can simply search for issues that have labels with UAT in them: issue in wildcardMatch("labels", "*UAT*") and use this filter in your dashboard…

Hi, Standard JQL doesn't easily allow it but the results can be quickly found using our professional indexing service JQL Search Extensions. commentedByUser=currentUser() You can then narrow down the results with the commentedOnDate JQL alias. You can find out more in our docs. I hope this helps! Daniel
