I think I would be wary of deleting a resolution that is created by Core Jira since it may just get recreated? Definitely test in a non-production Jira instance
-
In Data Center, the ScriptRunner app has Escalation Services for this
-
Yes, that's the idea. When you want to have N projects all using the same set of schemes. We only create projects using that setting

This was part of taking my whole family to the UK for two weeks, which was a big win :)
-
I resisted laughing out loud when the two small children bouncing on the seats in front of me on a long flight loudly referred to the attendant as "waiter". The whole section of the plane went very quiet too
-
Check the audit log? Or look in a non-production staging instance?
-
Typos: "A drop with 30 min intervals will appear if you wish to enter a more precise time" should be "A drop-down with 30 min intervals will appear. If you wish to enter a more precise time"

I find debugging sprint permissions can get tricky, even for experienced Jira admins. One approach I sometime use is to start with a new board to see if I can reproduce it using the smallest possible configuration. Though I think your current board seems pretty simple already. If the problem were just for Closing sprints,…

I don't think you can do this with JQL. But you could use a JQL search to retrieve all the issues with work logged in the chosen range. Then use a script to extract just those issues and process the issue history in each one, outside Jira. Something such…
-
I read that as pseudo JQL not actual JQL
-
Good idea! Please can the docs also include the steps to delete the sample plan and its generated data?
-
Some ideas here but this really needs more log output
-
Agreed. I'd be looking at the validators on that transition in the workflow for one where you can display an error message but none has been configured
-
"You can create an unlimited number of components" I'd recommend limiting it to a few thousand or issues may not load in the UI
-
None that I've ever run into, but I would expect Jira to perform badly over a few hundred. But before that your users will hate creating issues because they cannot find the fields they expect. If you don't need to report on a field, it likely doesn't belong on the Jira create screen

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Middle_name#Middle_name_as_primary_forename list some USians who use their middle name. Not sure what they do about their Social Security cards. For example * Ted Cruz (Rafael Edward Cruz) * Mitch McConnell (Addison Mitchell McConnell)
-
The display of Epic is controlled by the Epic Status single select field. You can add that field to an edit screen and manually update it. You can also change the workflow to change this field when an issue status is changed. Or have a periodic script look for Epics that have been closed for a few weeks and closes them
-
Ah, middle names. I'm actually named John Matthew but I go by Matt or Matthew. This is a nuisance when dealing with US bureaucracy such as Social Security Admin which no longer recognizes middle names as a valid part of your full name. Doh!
-
Not sure how I would automate that. Or why. But you could bulk change the assignee to unassigned, then move the issues

I think what I wrote is still true: Rank is not lost https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-15634?focusedCommentId=1728843&page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel#comment-1728843

I guess going to the beach for Thanksgiving in November is our Fall tradition. When I grew up in the UK we could go to the beach in November but it was a different kind of thing. Brrr.

I believe that commercial posts are supposed to go in https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Marketplace-Apps-Integrations/bg-p/atlassian-marketplace-articles

That page says "This tutorial applies to JIRA 5.0.2 or later," So the tutorial is really old. I generally extract the data, transform it to what the Jira CSV Importer wants, and then use that, in Jira Data Center

For me it was Jacque Cousteau, then an astronaut. Now I realize that the TV and films that I enjoyed all had lots of gadgets.
-
I really have to ask what the purpose of these levels above Initiative are. How do they improve the planning and project management of a company?
-
pid is the unique number associated with each project, as you say, not usually shown. But it can be used in JQL
-
I confirmed that JQL using the numeric project id works
-
I think that JQL such as project=1234 will work with the project id. It looks for the id first, then the project key, then the project name IIRC
-
Oh yes, the music!

I watched a youtube video by someone called "The Rude Guy" yesterday. A mashup of many favourite UK cartoons from my childhood with different words. Very different words. Made me laugh a lot, just as Viz still does.
