Ooh, thank you for the specificity with your training go-tos. And good luck on your coding journey!
-
Interesting! Sounds like y'all get on the same schedule, regardless of being in the same physical location or not. I like that! And don't usually do this with my team, but in retrospect I think we get more work done when that happens. PS - What does VA stand for, @Esme Crutchley ?

Best and cutest reasons to alternate blocks. There should be a superlative award for this!
-
Great to reinforce regardless all-year-long. Sick days aren't just for emergency days, absolutely!
-
Yes, vacays are vacays. Great move in respecting boundaries!
-
How inclusive and welcoming. Personally, I appreciate those messages.

Asking about each other can mean investment in each other. Love it. Also, I like the personal updates that transform into educational side tangents. Like, kind of really love them. =D
-
Love the "Learning through application" mentality.
-
I'm only starting to utilize this, but scheduling emails during less traditional work hours helps folks not get all the pings on say...a weekend. I feel that!
-
It's that "always checking in" mentality. I love it.
-
Meeting screen grab. That's my post.

* Teammate: I'm sorry I'm late, I was running from another meeting. * Meeting facilitator: we've got a lot to cover, but now that we're all here, we can begin. * Me: but more importantly, how is everyone doing? Shall we take a deep breath together?

You can still submit questions on the Hackathons event today (or before the 26th) :) https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Teamwork-Lab-questions/Ask-Us-Anything-INTERNAL-HACKATHONS-from-ShipIt-to-evolving-the/qaq-p/1810785.

@Tinker Fadoua we have our second AMA up, soliciting questions for the next week until the guests answer them one week from today - https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Teamwork-Lab-questions/Ask-Us-Anything-INTERNAL-HACKATHONS-from-ShipIt-to-evolving-the/qaq-p/1810785. And then every two weeks we'll have more AMAs (async,…

Dear @John Funk Totally agree with @chucktalk and @Dave LIAO. The first step to re-engagement is understanding where the teammate is at and whether it makes sense for them to re-engage. You can find more information through direct conversation and asking how they're doing OR you can find more information from a distance by…

Whare are some of your fav online resources or conferences for training, @John Funk ?

It's easy to see quick wins from internal hackathons. But, how do you push that energy forward so that there's long-term momentum behind some of the innovation that comes from point-in-time hackathons?
-
From the organizer side, what're some of the challenges in trying to evolve or even coordinate internal hackathons that perhaps hackathon participants don't see?
-
I never thought about the concept of "personalizing skills to your style" in terms of learning and personal development. I like that framing a lot, @Mel Policicchio! Because you're right. I don't want to learn a generic way to give a presentation (and frankly, have heard the main talking points a lot). What I want to…

Ah yes, billing by hours can cloud things, especially since there is an expectation based on volume of hours. It makes sense that you cut your hours back because that probably helped align expectations closer to what you're comfortable with. As for emotional well-being, your retro on activities is so useful. Sometimes I…

Dear @Martin Bayer _MoroSystems_ s_r_o__, Thank you for raising a question that I think many would benefit from. Burnout is on the rise and has increasingly been during the pandemic. But regardless of when we are in time, knowing when you're overloaded is difficult and it's important we regularly self-check that we're okay…

The recordings! Duh, I totally forgot that when news makes the rounds people look up the original sources. Nice.
-
We weren't able to fulfill the plants for everyone worldwide :( so we decided to get something everyone had access to. Thank you for understanding, @nina_schmidt !
-
Dear @Tinker Fadoua, Oof, first of all, I'm sorry if you experience this now or have in the past. The situation you describe not only sounds difficult to work through from a productivity standpoint, but emotionally hurtful as an indicator of disrespect. Of course, the manager character may not intend malice, but to assume…

My $1.99 is that the fastest way to kill productivity as a performance measure, is to trace the source of performance measures. * What does the organization prioritize through visible communications? * What does senior leadership give accolades for? * What are bonuses or promotions based on? It seems to me that work goals…

Main theme I'm hearing: a focus on relationship development. Agreed.
-
Lol, these are hilarious.
-
You never know, @Tinker Fadoua . It's anyone's game right now!

* DIO - Duh, what a simple concept of introducing the full name and definition upon first use and then using the abbreviation thereafter. I'm not sure why that's not top of mind for me when I think about abbreviations and wonder if it's because folks don't always use that concept. But I love it. And hope others adopt this…
