Hi,
welcome to the New to Jira group!
We would love to hear about you and also more about your "Jira situation" (if you're comfortable):
Thank you!
Found Jira this month. Working mostly with independents and it looks like a good platform for coordinating and organizing everything appropriately.
Glad you found it and welcome to the Community @Neil Allender !
Thank You @Darryl Lee 👾🌊🧘♂️

Hey! I am new here. I am still doing a course on agile and that's why I am here. Actually, Jira isn't all that boring and the hard subject I had thought it might be I am delighted and looking forward to doing projects here, of course after finishing the course!

Hi Everyone!
As a Support Engineer with Opsgenie, Jira is one of our more popular integrations to help notify the correct users about new Jira issues, have Opsgenie alerts automate the creation of Jira issues, or both!
Automation rules are one of my favorite features. A pretty common ask is "How can we get the Jira issue linked to the Opsgenie alert?" Our new integration framework offers this, but a lot of customers continue to use the older framework for various reasons.
By default, the Jira issue link does not post in the Opsgenie alert through the older framework. But an automation rule can be configured to add a comment on the issue, which can then add a note in the Opsgenie alert, and include a link to the issue! The rule and example can be viewed below:
https://sitename.atlassian.net/browse/{{key}}
Automation rules are so powerful, so wanted to share one that we typically suggest to customers. Hope it helps!!
Hi Everyone!!!
First time I heard about Jira in 2019, when I was in collage, and around 2020 during pandemic I started learning the Jira Administration part.
I enjoyed Automation Part in Jira Cloud, it makes things very easy.

Great write-up @Nick Haller !
Hey there! I'm very new to Jira, but I have used Trello and Asana in the past, so project management tools like this are familiar to me. I am learning Jira for my new job and so far I am liking it! Can't wait to keep learning.
Hey @Allison McIlmoyl Welcome!
Here is the Jira Software Cloud documentation site if there's any specific topic or feature you are interested in -> https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRASOFTWARE/Jira+Software+Documentation
Welcome @Allison McIlmoyl
Hello and Welcome, Allison!
Hello Everyone! 👋🏽 I have known about Jira and Atlassian for about 10 years now (only been a software engineer since mid-2018). Therefore, this is actually my 1st time using the product. I've used several other competing ones in the past. Currently, I am contracted on a team that is very remote, yet very Scrum-focused.I felt that it was a very good time to actually learn and use the product, in order to give it a fair assessment. It is more mature than and not as stuffy as I thought it was. I'm excited 🥳 to learn how I can implement & tailor it properly with my own boutique firm while I am getting familiar with it a larger scale team.If it is not already available, I think that a complete highly interactive LMS that uses cutting-edge aesthetics with different implementation scenarios would be an excellent way to self-learn the platform. I learn best by getting my hands dirty and I know that I'm not alone. Well, that's my spill. Take care! ✌🏽
I would recommend you start with the free course at Atlassian University to ramp up the product knowledge of Jira, when you begin with some hands-on and feel stuck with any features, it would be fairly easy to search on the Jira Documentation Site.
Hi everyone,
I first time I heard about Jira was in 2010 and I started using Jira in 2013 at McKesson. I now work at CSAA Insurance Group (AAA Insurance) and we have Jira fully implemented into our environment and I use it daily. I have been in this community for a while, but just found this group!
Hello, happy to join this group
Hi everyone. I am new to Jira and excited to be here. I started using Jira about 3 weeks ago. So I look forward to learn more from the expertise in the community and improve my ability to use the tool in my Business Analyst career. Thank you!
I did not prepare a speech, can I have my candy anyway.I'm not new to Jira and here for Kudo points.I've been deeply engaged with Jira since 2005.I hope I can lend assistance.
Honesty is always the best policy. Extra kudos for that!
Hello all,
I had heard about Jira, off and on, for a while. Basically every time I took a run at project management. I tried it out about the time Atlassian bought Trello as Trello was (and still is) an imperfect fit for what I still need.
I had walked away from it as also not suitable at the time, but am comming back now because nothing else seems to be, either, and Jira seems to be adaptable enough to be worth another shot. Though I am in an odd business for it. (Writing and publishing, with some digital art, music, and other creative endeavors in the works but not ready yet.)
I am mostly looking at Jira for two major aspects: 1) workflow management of the publishing and production side of things. 2) Intellectual property management. Specifically what I have licensed out where (such as if I get a short story accepted to a magazine, at what time can I put it in a collection and publish it on my own?) and what's do for maintenance (Cover checks etc.) I am currently using Air Table for my database, and am hoping to be able to use the data back and forth between software (I'm investigating some of the plugins for that on both platforms.) Honestly, I'm not sure Jira's the right place for this, but I haven't been able to find anything else that's more suited to it so I hope I can make it work here.
Hi All
I heard about Jira early 2022, when I was looking for project management tool to use in our business (Complementary Medicine).
I presented to our management team and they were happy with the features the tool is giving, we are looking to deploy as R&D team.
I am interested in Project milestones dependencies, critical path, gantt chart, and impact of delay on overall project.
Hi @Obert Randi ,
Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Hi @Mohamed Fouad ,
Welcome!!!
Welcome to the community @Heather Strickler !
Welcome to the Community @Mohamed Fouad !
Thanks @Mayur Jadhav & @Darryl Lee for the welcoming and thanks @Hana Kučerová for the post.
I have question linked to synchronization between Biggantt & Jira.
"why the start and end date aren't synchronized between Jira Software and Big Gantt?
If I change a date of task in Gantt, it doesn't reflect in Jira."
Have I to change some configurations?
thank u
Hi! I am the Development Director at Illinois Legal Aid Online in Chicago. Most of my colleagues have used Tempo for their time sheets, but some of us on the Admin team just started using it this month. I am only using it as a time sheet for now bc I have my own project management system. So far I like it and I have it on my google calendar so I remember to log my time every day.
Welcome to the Community, @Alexa Markoff!
My first introduction to Jira was about 4 years ago when I was working with a team on several sales and marketing projects. Now, I am a Jira admin and a product owner working with a nonprofit. My team has started utilizing Jira to implement Salesforce products and develop various solutions. Jira and Confluence are giving us all the tools to manage our projects for now.
I am happy to be here. Even though I'm really not new to Jira I'm still learning something more about it nearly everyday.
When did you first find out about Jira?
I first found out about Jira in December 2020.
Where are you in the process of adopting Jira?
As we are a Marketplace Partner we have Jira in full used, so much configured, so many add-ons installed and are using for everything. (And I mean EVERYTHING but it's really awesome!)
Which topics about Jira are you interested the most and what would help you?
I'm really interested to see how other people use Jira and how they work with it. And as someone new to project management I'm really interested how Jira transformed that for other people. Something I lately find really interesting is how Jira helps large organisations manage their work. And I'm really curious to learn more about how Jira works at a huge scale.
Do you have any funny stories connected to Jira?
Not that I can think of right now. If I can think of something or something funny happens to me, I'm definitely sharing it with the community.
Hello!
Let's get this show on the road, eh?
Hi All,
Myself working as Jira Admin for more than 5years and actively answering in Community. Happy to join this group!
welcome.
Hi! Brand new to Jira. Another department started using it about 5 years ago but I didnt have much use for it then. Now I'm supposed to be setting up our IT Help Desk to use it and not having an easy time of it. Really struggling on figuring out where everything is and how to set it up. This is kicking my butt and I'm one that is known for picking up on this type of stuff quickly but I feel like I'm in quick sand with no Tarzan around to help me get out!!! Most of the video's seem to be on project management but I need more task management help. Help with learning how to add my own tables for things like building/room numbers. Everything seems to focus on software development and deployment and I need more end user hardware/software failure, installation of hard/software, account provisioning, type setup! If I'm spinning my wheels trying to set this up please let me know that as well too!

Welcome @Heather Strickler
Welcome @Heather Strickler !
Welcome to the community @Virginia Hagerty ! You are starting to setup up your service desk. Make sure you have Jira Service Management. It is built on top of Jira Software and is focus on the service side like IT, Helpdesk, HR, Facilities, etc. It comes already with templates to help you get started.-Ben
We have Jira Software, Jira Service Management and Jira Work Management. So far my only project is under Service Management.
lol
I'm a freelance translator. The first time I heard about Jira was three days ago, because I have got a client who request my services but want the job to be done using Jira.
The project starts within a week. That's why I'm here to learn about the basics, and possibly adopt the platform.
Thank you
So I've been hearing about Jira for a long while and I decided to jump on it a few months ago and try it for a personal project and I'm loving it thus far. It's very easy to use and very newbie-friendly. There's always a hint here and there to guide you along the way.

I'm fairly new to Jira, I'm coming from a law background and looked into Jira and Confluence to upskill myself for a new field. I really like how integrated it is with Confluence and how it works smoothly from what I've learned so far.
You'll love it, it can help organize pretty much anything. Sky is the limit with this software suite Welcome!
