Is it possible to change tab name?

This issue is driving me crazy, since I'm using a folder convention name. Every project I got need to have the code under the 'code' folder. The problem is every project looks the same :on SourceTree (currently SourceTree 1.9):

Every project is taking the 'code' folder name and this is becoming a huge problem, because I'm unable of discern one project from other.

Is there a way of changing the tab name independent from the folder name?

If you know the answer, please help me with some picture if you can!

Hi Fernando,

The folder name is shown if:

a) you open a folder that doesn't have a bookmark

b) you haven't edited a bookmark's name

If you bookmark the repositories you can rename them without it affecting the underlying folder's name. The custom name will also be shown in the tab.

I'd also recommend checking out the latest offerings as we're up to 3.0.17 on Windows in the next week with big changes coming in 3.1.

This is driving me crazy!

We just updated to 3.1.1 of SourceTree. Now, every time I restart sourcetree the tabs change names to the folder name. So I have 6 tabs all with the title "dev". I have renamed the bookmarks, and reloaded the tabs. It looks perfect. I then restart sourcetree, and the tabs are renamed "dev". I have done this three times now. It is so frustrating.

This has only now started happening in 3.1.1.

Brian, I think you missed the fact that Fernando already talks about Bookmarked repositories.

I have exactly the same issue as Fernando. And your reply clearly suggests that this is not possible. So I investigated it further.

This is what I discovered:
The rules you are stating are correct for bookmarked repos' that are NOT in a group. As soon as you put a bookmark in a group, then the folder name is used to display in the tab, always!

To rename tabs, it's not much intuitive, but have to liste repositories on right part of the HMI, and right click the tab > rename

Eventually you should restart SourceTree to view changes applied

To expand on this answer, press Ctrl+B to open the "Local repositories" panel. Alternatively, it's labeled the "Bookmarks Sidebar" in the View menu.

SourceTree v3.4.15.0 and the tabs keep showing the folder name

I got the same problem; before the update, it worked fine, but now the tab shows the folder name regardless of the name I set for the repository.

I can confirm, version 3.4.15 is showing this issue. All tabs just show the folder name instead of the name given during the clone process.

Fustrating issue. Solution is to move the mouse cursor over the tab to see the real repo name This works forever.
