Is there a way to directly record a voice memo or video as a comment on a Trello card?

I know there would be a possibility for me to record an audio file on my phone/computer, manually search for it and add it as an attachment, but to significantly speed up that work flow, is there a Power Up or more direct way to comment on a card with a voice memo or video memo rather than typing out a comment?

@Jocelyn McClellan one option that would work across multiple platforms would be to use voice dictation. This works reasonably well but usually requires some editing.

On mobile devices, the process to attach a video is quick, you can tap to take a photo, select video, record and save in a relatively pain free process.

The same process is made simple on desktop if you can drag out of your recording software onto a Trello card, rather than clicking the attachment button and finding the file.

On MacOS the built in photo booth app allows you to make a video recording, then drag the resulting file directly from the interface onto a trello card.

The built in voice memos app *doesn't* allow this which is a bit annoying, and a cursory glance at the app store doesn't reveal any solution that does have this.

Most voice recorders will allow you to quickly save something to the same folder so having an easy shortcut to access that folder and ordering it in reverse date order would be the quickest way of getting drag and drop access to voice recordings that I could think of.

@Jocelyn McClellan I should also mention that on mobile platforms Trello can be set as a "share target" so you could record a voice dictation then share it to Trello, but this will create a new card, rather than adding it to an existing one.

It's weird that in both mobile and desktop platforms the process for doing this via video seems to be much simpler than doing it by audio only. Maybe you can find an app that allows you to quickly drag n drop a voice recording though ...

This is beyond ridiculous to me that with such an advanced product, that one cannot easily record an audio sound byte (of which most browsers allow access to your mic and not to mention on mobile it's not even an issue). I understand that it's possible with plugins that save separate files that you can then drag and drop, but it's very cumbersome. Not to mention in the free version there is a file size limit on video (which I don't need the video part) so that's impractical too.

Audio notes are ubiquitous in virtually all non-work related communication and are small in file size. What is it about work-related communication that reduces the need to explain something verbally?

does this work on android mobiles? I have it installed on pc but isn't showing up as an option to record on a card on android

@Nanci Creedon Unfortunately it's not available in the app. You can't use Power-Ups in Trello mobile app since they're not supported there besides a few ones made by Trello themselves.
