when using nested groups and given a group XY, how do I get all parent groups, i.e. all groups which include the group XY?
Remark: I know that when navigating to Direct members I can see the included groups and users, but I need the other direction.
Hi @Frank Eppink
As of today this is not something you can get in Crowd's UI. However you can use Crowd's REST API to retrieve that information.
You can get the direct parent groups with:
curl -X GET -u "<application_name>:<application_password>" -H "Accept: application/json" "http://localhost:8095/crowd/rest/usermanagement/1/group/parent-group/direct?groupname=<child_group_name>"
For instance:
And you can get the nested parent groups with:
curl -X GET -u "<application_name>:<application_password>" -H "Accept: application/json" "http://localhost:8095/crowd/rest/usermanagement/1/group/parent-group/nested?groupname=<child_group_name>"
