Cant login to Atlassian via. BitBucket

Question

Hi there, running the latest versions of GIT, Git Credential Manager for Windows and SourceTree.

Ive reset my password and CAN login via web

everytime i try to do ANYTHING with sourcetree, it fails to login with the credentials that I have confirmed are accurate.

Super frustrating.

Specs:

Windows 10 (clean install)

SourceTree 2.6.10

Git version 2.17.0.windows.1

GCMW 1.16.3

Here is output from SourceTree: (sanitized)

Even I am facing the issue for SourceTree as git client

On registering the product I picked the Atlassian Account however when I try to Push / Pull from repository, it authenticates with BitBucket account (user name less domain name appears instead of email) and fails with below error

   An error occurred while sending the request.

I tried with other client as well and still facing issues - not to do with SourceTree but with GIT Credentials I suppose... not sure.

Can you please guide me to resolve this?

doing this resolved - but not sure if that is correct solution.

Hi Graham! Are you trying to log in to an individual account or to a team account? If you're using a team account, then you'll need to generate an App password as suggested in the message above. You can find the instructions at App passwords.

If you're using an individual account, or are using the App password and still fails, please double check that you're on the latest version of Internet Explorer as Sourcetree relies on it for authentication.

If after trying the above you're still having issues, let us know so we can investigate further.
