Why does Sourcetree not allow me to delete my Github password?

I am on source tree version 2.5.5.0 on Windows 10 64 bit

1. I go to Tools -> Options, Authentication tab
2. I expand the Github - Https Saved Passwords  section
3. I click the Delete button to delete my password
4. I am asked if I am sure I want to delete the password. I click Yes

Observe: The Github password collapses, but is not removed from the Saved Passwords section

Expected: Deleting a password should remove the entry from the Github - Https Saved Passwords section

 

This is a bug I've encountered before so I think it's been around for a while. Is there a fix for this?

Hi Victor! Thank you for reporting this. This issue was already submitted to our issue tracker and you can find it at SRCTREEWIN-8551.

The credentials are stored in Windows Credential Manager and can be deleted from there.

Git credentials are prefixed by 'git:', Mercurial credentials by 'hg:' and Sourcetree REST credentials by 'sourcetree'. In the meantime, you can have your password deleted by doing so directly in the Windows Credential Manager.
