Synchronisation link for Confluence and Jira in Crowd

Question

Often when creating a new user or modifying an existing user - once every two days  or so - I will then need to go into both Jira and Confluence separately, search for User Directories, and click synchronise. From what I can tell about the URLs there is some sort of random id at the end for security. Which means I can't bookmark the Synchronise link.

Will the Synchronise links be added to Crowd so I don't need to go hunting to force a synchronisation?

Is there a simpler solution that doesn't involve waiting for synch period or decreasing synch period to 120 seconds that I'm missing?

Hi @Lachlan Musicman,

Could you describe in more details what is your use case? In general Crowd will update or synchronize user upon user authentication so in such case there is no need to trigger synch in order to ensure the user will be able to login.

However, if you would like to be able to mention the user in Jira for example and the user is newly created in Crowd or in remote directory connected to Crowd you would have to synchronize the Jira directory with Crowd.

Why changing the synch interval is not an option for you? It looks like having more frequent synchronizations would resolve your problem?

Hi Lachlan,

When you'll create a new external directory, you can choose the type of sincronizations and / or the time for that.

You can edit this configurations as well, but you'll need to connect with a user of internal directory (JIRA ou Confluence).
