How do I get email notifications about a due date created on Calendar?

Hey guys, 

I've installed Trello's Calendar so to add due dates and time period for projects I am working on. However, I noticed the calendar doesn't send any notifications of any sorts and I would really like to have it into my mail box. The idea is to set up a due date for a card and get an email reminder about it. I used this feature a lot with Asana and would like something similar with Trello.   

Any tips on how to do that? Thanks

If you subscribe to the board, the list that the card is on, or the card itself, Trello will send a notification about the due date 24 hours before the card is due. If you have your email settings anything other than "never", then you'll get an email about the notification that is triggered as long as you don't clear the notification from your Notification Center before the email is sent.

There's not a way to change the 24 hour rule, however.  But there's a workaround using Butlerbot

To add custom automation using Butlerbot, follow these steps:

1) Add Butlerbot to your board here: https://www.butlerfortrello.com/dashboard.html
-- A new list will be created titled "Butler"
2) Add a new card to the Butler list, using the following text minus the parentheses

(the moment a card is due, post comment "@username, This card is due!")

You can change "the moment" to "two hours, one hour, six hours", however much in advance you want to receive the notification. This will add a comment to the card, mentioning you in the comment, and trigger a notification.
