Was is the procedure to backup the Crowd JDBC Driver?

Hello!

Upgrading from Crowd 2.12.0 to Crowd 3.1.2 fails constantly here, presumingly the new Crowd version does find the PostgreSQL DB on the Ubuntu 16.04 server. In Step2 of the upgrade instructions this item is mentioned:

Back up your Crowd JDBC Driver if you have configured Crowd with a database.

What does that mean practically? (I mean, I do not perform any backup, since I can recreate anything from a snapshot.)

You might want to raise a support ticket with Atlassian to figure out your upgrade issues. Be sure to provide them with error logs.

In terms of backing up the JDBC Driver, Crowd (excluding WAR distribution) ships with PostgreSQL JDBC driver so you don't need to back it up.

It's "postgresql-9.5 9.5.12-0ubuntu0.16.04" on Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS in Amazon Web Services (AWS).

No, we do not have any issues with connection problems to the PostgreSQL DB. What I am observing is that it's possible with Crowd 3 to login to Bamboo, JIRA, Confluence but not to Crowd itself. I am just trying to sort out as many incorrect settings as possible.

(I am recently trying to upgrade Bamboo, JIRA, and Confluence because I hope upgrading them will be easier.)

Will the documentation be updated? I don't think that I ever had to fetch a JDBC driver for PostgreSQL, so I suspect the document describes version of software out of support…
