Migrating Crucible to AWS server

Hello,

I am working on migrating Crucible 3.10.4 to AWS server

The current crucible server has mysql 5.6

So, I have installed Crucible 3.10.4 and mysql 5.6 on AWS server.

I have copied fecrudata driectory and back up zip file to aws server. 

Do i need to copy mysql database too?

And,

When i did backup restore, not able to start after completion of backup restore.

I am not able to find anythign in logs as it is very big

Can anyone send me correct steps for migrating to aws server

Hi @Anvesh Gurudu,

At the document you've found, Migrating Fisheye Between Servers, it is mentioned that if you use an external database it must be accessible from the new server, so you are not required to migrate the database to AWS, but you are surely recommended to do that.

That document does not consider the possibility of running Fisheye in AWS while the database is still hosted in your own servers, and we have seen terrible performance issues due to network latency in such scenario, so we strongly recommend you to migrate the database to AWS as well.

Also, after moving Fisheye and the database to AWS you will have to edit the database settings in FISHEYE_INST/config.xml because the JDBC URL will still be pointing to your local database server. You will have to update this so that it points to the database hosted in AWS.
