As the installation method for SourceTree was changed from MSI to Squirrel with SourceTree 1.10, the installation is stored in %LocalAppData%. Is there a way to install SourceTree 1.10 or later to C:\Program Files for all users to use the same installation?
On my workstations software restriction policies are active which block execution of any application location in folders writeable by regular users including %AppDataLocal%. All applications on these workstations are installed with an administrative acount and properly installed to C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86).
In my oppinion installing SourceTree to %AppDataLocal% is the worst way to install an application. Regular users should never be able to install any application. That's the way malware especially ransom ware infects Windows computer. And the folder is called "AppData" and not "Application".
