Manually restore Crucible data from backup

Situation:

1) Took full backup

2)Uninstalled and Installed new version 3.8

3)I did try the restore commands ,for some reason it does not work.(nothing useful in logs)

but I'm not having any succes so far. After installing new version ,Which dirs do I need to remove to get it working?

or is there a way to manually replace files from zip (backup) or could I use any plugin to import the files like jira?

Hi Tummala,

Could you please clarify further how you observe the restore isn't working? Thus you mentioned there's nothing useful in the logs I'd like to know what's the output from the command line in which you run the restore command.

The restore procedure is fully documented at https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CRUCIBLE/Backing+up+and+restoring+Crucible+data#BackingupandrestoringCrucibledata-RestoringCrucibledata, but please allow me to point some things you may be missing that should be important to notice:

• Make sure you have a clean FISHEYE_INST directory before running the restore. The FISHEYE_INST directory is indicated by the environment variable of the same name, so make sure you've created an empty directory and pointed the FISHEYE_INST environment variable to it before running the restore command. In case you don't have a FISHEYE_INST environment variable set, the restore procedure will just restore the data within the install directory.
• The fisheyectl.sh to be used to run the restore command is the one within the new install (to which you're going to restore the backup).
• Use the database options in the restore procedure as needed, in case you're trying to restore the backup to a different database, to make sure you won't override your existing database.
