Do remote agents count based on "concurrently active" or as "total in the system"?

In regards to Bamboo licensing i was wondering if i have a single remote agent, can that be a different agent for different builds? e.g. if i need windows and linux builds can they be done with a single agent license with only one of two agents beeing active at a time?

The licence is for total number. To achieve what you want you'd need to shut down one of the agents.
