Fisheye Authentication using Jira instance

Question

All:

I am trying to use Active Directory  for user authentication in JIRA ( It works fine)

I am trying to use my Jira instance for user authentication in Fisheye

I have problem in filling in the following info while setting up Fisheye Authentication

Jira/ Crowd Authentication settings

-----------------------------------

Authentication instance : Jira instance

Application Name : fisheye

Application password:

Crowd URL:

------------------------------

My questions:

1) Does the application name refer to fisheye or Jira?

2) Where does  the application password come from?

3) I am not using Crowd URL . Why is it showing up?

I'm glad to hear you managed to get it working.  Regarding Jira with embedded Crowd question, it says so because JIRA 4.3 and later uses embedded crowd.   This means Jira is bundled with subset of Crowd's core modules and because of this can be used as authentication tool for other Atlassian's product like FishEye. Thanks for your quick response.

It was a great help!!!

I applied the Remove button on the "Jira/ Crowd Authentication settings"

and that cleared the Crowd url and showed me the Jira Url.

I was able to enter the Jira Url make  it all work.

Now, my authentication is using Active Directory through a Jira instance.

However,I have one more question.

We are not using Crowd at all but still I see  (jira with embedded crowd)

in the settings   Jira/ Crowd Authentication (Jira with embedded Crowd)

What is the role of Crowd here?

Could you please explain ( Crowd instance or Jira instance implies that

it is either  jira or Crowd ).Obviusly, I selected Jira and how come I see

Jira with embedded crowd.
