We use Bamboo's plan branches and the auto-management is on. So the text on the UI says:
Bamboo will automatically create Plan Branches when it detects new branches in your version control system and automatically remove Plan Branches from Bamboo after a specified period of inactivity. Detection of new branches runs every 5 minutes
Observed and desired behaviour:
- New git branch is created, Bamboo creates new plan branch.
- git branch has lots of activity, plan branch kicks off builds.
- git branch has no activity for our configured 15 days, plan branch is deleted.
Aww, it doesn't have this behaviour:
- Git branch receives a commit -
Bamboo doesn't re-create the plan branch and fire a build.
In other words, we'd prefer the behaviour to be: create new plan branch on new or updated git branches, if no plan branch exists for that git branch. Or - can I enable this, and if so, how?
