There was no such issue with the previous version.
When I upgraded Source Tree to v 1.9.6.1 this is a major issue with this version.
Kindly check this issue.
There have been lots of bug reports on this over the years. Atlassian marked the original bug as resolved, but it doesn't appear to be. You might vote on this issue, and comment that it is still broken in 1.9.6.1: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/SRCTREEWIN-783
