I have trouble installing at Windows 8

Question

I am using Windows 8.1 K, but whenever I start to install sourcetree

it says

The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142)

Is there anyway to fix this error?

I still couldn't install it :(

maybe it is just my computer's problem.

Hi Minsik,

Its a generic windows error message, it seems that there is some thing causing the error on your environment.

Looking for this error I've found some possible causes and solutions of this issue:

* - Install the latest version of SourceTree (http://www.sourcetreeapp.com/)
* - Make sure all of your hardware drivers are updated (specially the video driver)
* - Try to disable the Antivirus/Firewall for a test
* - Check if there is no virus or malware on your system, there are some virus that can cause this error on some applications
* - Keep your windows updated

If no one of these steps works I would suggest you to use the SFC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/System_File_Checker) to further investigate on it.
